I am just beginning my research into the genealogy of the name Gaboriault dit Lapalme.
My father is Serge Lapalme (born 1941) from Montreal, Quebec. My grandfather was Marcel Lapalme married to Marie Ange Pigeon. My great grandfather was Arthur Lapalme married to Odina Oueilette and was born in Farnham, Quebec in the mid 1870s. I know that Arthur's father was Hector Gaboriault dit Lapalme. He had 3 sons (Alphonse, Hector and Arthur). That is the extent of my knowledge.
As the years pass, the history is being lost. I read that the Lapalme name first was recorded in Quebec in 1642. Is this true?
