Searching For Information regarding Gaboriault dit Lapalme

I am just beginning my research into the genealogy of the name Gaboriault dit Lapalme.

My father is Serge LaPalme (born 1941) from Montreal, Quebec. My grandfather was Marcel Lapalme married to Marie Ange Pigeon. My great grandfather was Arthur Lapalme married to Odina Oueilette and was born in Farnham, Quebec in the mid 1870s. I know that Arthur's father was Hector Gaboriault dit Lapalme. He had 3 sons (Alphonse, Hector and Arthur). That is the extent of my knowledge.

As the years pass, the history is being lost. I read that the LaPalme name first was recorded in Quebec in 1642. Is this true?

Any information regarding the genealogy of my line and the history of the Lapalme name would be appreciated. Thank you.
I am looking for the marriage date of Moyse Gaboriault/Lapalme/Lapanne and Sophie Angele Duquet. The date should be about 1860 possibly in Plattsburgh or Redford, NY. There is a marriage for a Moyse Goesbriand and Angele Duquet for around that date but I can't be sure they are the same Moyse.
