Family lore says his mother was a French princess that came to Canada because she wasn't allowed to marry the man she wanted (Felix's father).

Interesting that you are looking on behalf of someone in Whitby: I am also in Whitby, and my grandfather was a brother of Edward.

(And Frank Gabourie, 1875, was born Francis, a name that carried through the family)

I have not made the link with a couple married in Quebec yet and would like to. Edward? Joseoh.1841 Fred 1842.

I would appreciate complete info on this family.I have Felix dead in 1870.

Also found that a Felix was made a Justice of the Peace and then found a Felix who lived until 102.Do you know if there were 2 around at that time or do I have his death date wrong?

Can you straighten me out on Cindy?

Joe Bergeron

I'm trying to find info about Felix Gabourie that came to Tweed area & helped found Georgetown. I have his dates as 1805-1850 (he married Rachael Woodcock). Their son Felix Jr. married Ellen O'Neil. Felix Jr. & Ellen are my gr-gr grandparents.

All I can find on Felix Sr (born 1805) is the info from Georgetown. Family lore is that he came from Trois-Rivieres & that his parents had immigrated from France. And, that there was royalty involved.

Does anyone have any info?

Joseph Gaboury was 22 years per the 1880 census; born in Canada. He was married to my grandmother's sister Catherine Savage Gaboury. I have seen the name spelled Gaborie, Gabouri, Gabourie, etc. Since my original post I have received additional records and have names of August and Helen Gaboury and William and Ellen Gabourie (I assume family members, who were godparents to family members). I also now known Joseph and Catherine Gaboury had 6 children: Albert, Mayme, William, Caroline, Alta and Charles. If any of these connect, I would appreciate hearing. Thank you.
Karen

I think he was born ca 1857. Marriage record to Sarah Frances Parkhurst not found in MA. The birth record for his other dau., Lora Imogene, on 26 Aug 1885 in Mendon MA states he was born in Fairfield VT.
Any help appreciated.
PS It seems that the Gabrys carry a 'bad relationship' gene because I've run across several unsucessful marriages.
