I have information that Mary Ann Ridge, oldest daughter of my 3rd great grandparents, was born about 1826 in Pembury, Kent, England, & married James Gabriel Dec 23, 1845 at the Parish Church in Pembury. James' father was William Gabriel. Pembury is outside of Tunbridge Wells.
I was not able to find James & Mary Ann living in England after 1845 - I thought maybe they travelled with the rest of Mary Ann's family to the US in 1850/1851. I think I found a Gabriel family living in southern Indiana in the census records after 1850 - but wasn't sure if it was this family.
When did your Gabriel family come here from England, & where did they live?
