Children of Gabriel Peder Bertelsen (Gabrielsen's) who emigrated to USA

Classification: Query
Surnames: Gabrielsen, Gilbert, Gilbertson
Hi: Gabriel's children were born in Storvatsbotten, Trondenes, Troms, Norway. My great grandmother,Benedikte, was Gabriel's daughter. The children who emigrated were: Markus Marinius; Klaus Kristian; Jorgen Lind (who changed his last name to Gilbertson or Gilbert); and Henrikka Pernille.

In 1888, Markus emigrated to Shawano Wisconsin, and then to Puget Island, Washington.

Jorgen moved out west, too. He lived near Cathlamet, Washington. Some family members changed their name from Gabrielsen to Gilbert or Gilbertson. Family legend said that they were told at Ellis Island Gabrielsen was not an American name, and they were urged to change to something more acceptable.

I don't know what happened to Klaus. He emigrated to Eau Claire, Wisconsin, in 1882.

Any info would be much appreciated. I have a lot of information about the Norwegian relatives, too.
Sincerely,
Tamara Gabrielsen
