Keren, I know this is an old posting, but maybe you are still out there. I, too, am searching for this woman's parents and siblings. She doesn't seem to be on the 1880 census anywhere that I have found. All I have is her obit from the Taylor Co Board. What messages I've seen on the Gaddie's and others, everyone wants to someone to write to them privately. Sorry, but that's defeating the purpose of these boards, which is to put the info here so everyone can benefit from it. If you find any further info, please, post it here. And here's the obit if you, or someone else looking doesn't have it. It only lists her mother as Mrs. Clarice Gaddie, no father's name, nor siblings, not even the mother's maiden name.

Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Catherine Shofner, 77, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, at the Zion Separate Baptist Church, Maple, Ky., with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. J. H. Bloyd was in charge of the service. Mrs. Shofner died July 16 at 9:45 a.m. at her home near Mannsville. She had been in ill health for several years with arthritis. Born December 25, 1879 in Larue County, she was the daughter of Mrs. Clarice Gaddie, deceased. She lived in the Mannsville community and was the wife of Alexander I. Shofner, who survives. Mrs. Shofner was a member of the Zion church and besides her husband, is survived by three sons and six daughters, Lonie Shofner, Louisville; Fred Shofner, Winter Garden, Fla.; Walter Shofner, Mannsville; Mrs. Mitchell Dobson, Hodgenville; Mrs. Lena Harmon, Casey Creek; Mrs. Gladys Cash, Louisville; Mrs. Thurman Thompson, Jeffersonville and Mrs. Cora Francis of Oceanside, Long Island, New York. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren. Pallbearers were her grandsons.
