1840 PA, Fayette Co, Wharton Twp, William and David Gaddis
William Gaddis 50-60 years old
1 female 50-60
1 male 20-30
1 female 10-15
David Gaddis 30-40 years old
1 female 20-30
1 male < 5
2 females < 5
Neither William nor David are in Wharton Twp censuses before nor after 1840 although there was a WIlliam Gaddis in Georges Twp in 1820 and 1830. Might have moved from Georges Twp or might have been living in Wharton Twp temporarily on their way west. No apparent connection with the Gaddises of Union and other Fayette County, PA townships at that time, but I suspect that William was the father of Perry Gaddis who remained in Wharton Twp for a couple of more decades and died in Dunbar, PA in 1886. Any clues to the identity of these two are welcome.
