Thank you VERY MUCH for your email. I answered with the email address you gave me and somehow it was sent to the Ancestry.com Customer Solutions team. Can't figure out how that happened so I am answering at this site. Anyway, I have sketchy information on Gaetano from many of his descendants and have tried to get his family complete without success. I am sure there is a relationship but have not figured it out yet. Perhaps, you have the answer. My great grandfather Moritz and supposedly his brother John Bernard came to America in the mid 1800s. John settled in Genoa, Wisconsin and Moritz in Girard, PA (near Erie). I know Moritz came from Lombardy, Italy and his wife Margaret Ernst came from Bavaria.
John Bernard's son, Bernard Gadola, married a Caroline and their descendants now live mostly in Minnesota, not Wisconsin.
There is another Gadola family that settled around Sharon, Pennsylvania. Francisco Gadola & Maria Gaetana Perfidia had a son Pasquale. One of Pasquale Gadola & Frances Nucissa's sons was named Guy Gadola which probably is our version of the name Gaetano. I have their family tree but have not yet tied it into mine or yours.
I would love to share my complete tree with you and would like yours as well. Years ago I talked with an Antonio Gadola (possibly a brother of Gaetano) and wrote to a Louis (a grand child) and a Sherise Gadola Zynel (a great grand child).
I have a copy of a book written by a Mario Gadola from Italy who researched the Vatican Archives that dates back to 1550. There is also a Robert Gadola from Switzerland who wrote a book on the Gadolas. He confirms your theory on the different spellings of the name. Also, of a migration of the family, originating in Isreal. Half of the Gadol's are Catholic and the other half are Jews.
Please keep in touch. I have lots more. My email is email@example.com
