Hi every one I'm looking to see if Gaertner is the German spelling OF my name.I think it was spelled Gaertner with two dots above the e for a, not sure. Ancestor came from Germany in the 1800s. My greatgrand father was killed by a train in Phila, PA. in 1925.
His name was joseph, his twin brother benjamin also was killed by train. Other brothers and sisters were Mary Frederic, Herman, Miriam, John. If anyone is german, the name means ( a person who does the gardening). How ever that is spelt. Just looking for some answeres . thanks to whom every can help.
