MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Mary L. Gaeta, 89, of 1807 Cedar St., died Thursday, June 27, 2002, at Lutheran Homes where she had been residing.

Funeral Mass at the St. Mary Church. The Rev. John P. Gallagher will officiate. Pallbearers will be Sal LoBianco, Vince J. Gaeta, Joe Gaeta, Charles J. Gaeta, Nick J. Gaeta, and Michael G. Gaeta. Burial will be in the Gaeta Mausoleum in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Visitation at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home with a Rosary Prayer service by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Joan of Arc Court No 524, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Bishop Hayes Elementary School or the Knights of Columbus No 1305.

Miss Gaeta was born on March 21, 1913, in Muscatine, the daughter of Louis and Phillipa Cirivello Gaeta.

For over 50 years she operated the Gaeta Businesses on Iowa Avenue.

She was a member of the St. Mathias Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Joan of Arc Court No. 524, and the Muscatine Toastmasters.

She is survived by three brothers, Vincent A. Gaeta and his wife, Josephine, of Muscatine, Charles Gaeta and his wife, Elizabeth 'Betty', of Letts, and Phillip Gaeta Sr. of Muscatine; one sister, Rose LoBianco and her husband, Charles, of Muscatine; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Carmelo and Joseph C. Gaeta, and one sister, Providence Gaeta.
