Agnes Cook Gahm Lamberson buried as Agnes Gahm 1862-1923 Mt Olive Cemetery, Lot 110. Confused on records in trees, cemetery re her first husband, Henry or Harry Franklin Gahm? Harry buried Mulberry Ks, Rosebank Cemetery, lot 12, d 1904. Also buried with him is John M Gahms 1885-1957?? Who is he? Buried with Agnes is Mamie Gahm 1886-1918???

My 1st cousin 2x removed, Thomas Brown, son of Belle Murray Brown Appleman married Agnes daughter, Emma. Seems Gahms and Belle/Jules Appleman all left Kansas for Oklahoma.

Agnes Gahm buried as Gahm not Lamberson, Richard Sherd Lamberson buried Mt Olive also as is his first wife Minnie May Murray Lamberson, she is in lot 75. Sherds parents Martha and John lot 78.

What prompted this epistle is Henry Franklin Gahm d 1904 or Harry Franklin Gahm as found in Rosebank, Mulberry Ks???

Bob Long, Cameron MO - Sherd and Minnie May Murray Lamberson grt grandson

Re: JULES APPLEMAN wife Belle Murray Brown Appleman

I have looked and looked for any photos I might have of either Jules or Belle and haven't found one. I realized finally, that the photo I was thinking was of Belle was actually a photo of someone from a completely different family. I'm sorry.

How else might I help you? I am a descendant of Mary (Appleman) Thibaut, Ledin. Mary was a sister to Jules and arrived on the same ship as did Jules and the rest of the immediate family. I do have pictures of Mary. I learned from a distant Appleman connection, that Mary kept an old trunk near her bed with all of her earlier possessions in it but that when she died, her daughter-in-law took all of it to the town dump. I want to shoot her! Just think of the treasures that might have been inside of that trunk!

The only information I've been able to find on the Appleman (Appelman, Appelmans)A family is the ship's manifest list for their immigration to the USA. It's very difficult to learn anything about a person from just a name and/or date found on some list. If you are a subscriber to ancestry.com, then you know everything I know. I have census information and what I gathered from the ship manifest.

I'd like to ask where you learned that Jules originated from LaCroix in Belgium. Have you tried searching for any of the family members in that part of the country? Births, deaths, marriages, etc.? I'm thinking that if we have the names and dates of births and if they lived in that area at the time of their births, it might be easy to request a look-up from someone in the area. Have you already tried that route? If we know for sure that LaCroix is the area we need to be researching, maybe we can make contact with someone from that area and ask for a look-up. Are we sure about the LaCroix part?

i just ran across your post. I know only the information you have given me and what I could find on ancestry. You mentioned that Jules was born in Belgium,LaCroix. I wasn't aware of the LaCroix part. I haven't been able to find any Belgium records for this family. I have Jule's father's name as Augustin. The surname might have originally been spelled, "Appelman" or "Appelmans" depending on where the name originated.

Have you had any luck since you posted this query? I have searched so long and hard with little to no result, I'm wondering if I've been searching with inaccurate information. Could Jules father have been born in Holland, as one of the censuses suggest under his brother, Arthur's name?

Sarah,

My Aunt responded. Not sure WHERE we connect in the family tree, but here is my line... Going backwards, of course...

My father is Glen (he passed in 1987), his father was Walter, his father was Joseph, his father was Jacob, his father was John, Jr. and his father was John (I guess Sr.) who emigrated to the USA in 1836 with his brothers Jacob & Adam. A fourth brother, Henry, did not come to America and very little is known about him and his line.

Of course each of these men had brothers and sisters, so it may be impossible to connect US directly. I just know you are my distant cousin and I'm glad to have you in the family...

Hi Rj,
We may be researching the same Gahm family. I have Johannes Gahm b. 15 Dec 1766 Katzweller Rheinland Pfalz Germany The last child he had born in GermanyOne of this mans children settled in Jackson Co Ohio. His name was Johannes also Born 10March 1807 He married Elizabeth Beck. Jacob H Gahm is the first child born in the USA in 1837. They have two children born in Germany Johannes Jr Gahm b. 1829 and Phillip Gahm b. 1831 so they had to have came to the USA between 1831 and 1837. I have not been doing any research on the ship they sailed over on so maybe this time line will help. Also my gransmother who was a Gahm said that they came over and were in Pensylvania for a while according to her dad. That would be Johannes Jr's Son named John Edward Gahm.
Nancy
