My great-grandmother is Wiktoria SOKOLOWSKA SLIWINSKI. She was born in Brody, Galicia, Austria in 1856, and married Jan SLIWINSKI in 1878 in Ponikwa, Galicia. Her parents were Mary GENSIOREK and Peter Sokolowksi. Wiktoria emigrated to Canada in 1907 and died in Winnipeg in 1923. This information comes from her death certificate, family notes, a FamilySearch record, and her headstone.

Jan or Joannes SLIWINSKI was a blacksmith, born in 1846 in Jankowce to Jozef SLIWINSKI (born 1823) & Domicilla BROGOWSKI.
