For Those That Think We Are Not ALL Related.............

I have great news for anyone with the last name "Galindo" !
1st.,it's said that ALL Galindo's in Spain are related,so th
en we started to spread out.We 1st. became Cubans, then went
to other places, but if your "CUBAN",most likely, you have roo
ts in Spain, because the 1st Cuban Galindos are from Spain. I
just wanted to clear up the misconception, that we are not al
l related, but we are.We all have our last name for a reason:
blood, adoption, marrage, slavory, etc. So no matter haw it is yo
u came accross your last name, you became part of the family.
And for that matter, that "RULE" goes for everybody,so preach
it to others so they will also understand this.

I am not sure that you are still doing thie search I can tell you that my Grandmother was a Galindo from Mayaguez. Her father's name was Ramon Galindo y Sanchez. Best I can tell he was married twice - once to Julia Torres and then to Prudencia. Her siblings were Marcial, Ruperto, Hipolito, and Lorenzo. My Mother was sent to live in New York with her brothers but I do not doubt that she had cousins already living there.

Hi, I too am searching for Galindo's from Texas. Specifically from the San Diego, Duval, Texas Area. My grandfather, Marcelino, born 1887, had a father named Evaristo Galindo. Marcelino's mother was Eligia Rodriguez. Evaristo would've been her second marriage. Eligia first married Unknown Cabrera. In addition to Marcelino, Eligia had three sons, Santiago, Ricardo and Teodoro.

My grandfather never knew his dad (I don't know why). Evaristo had another son possibly named Santos but I'm not sure. Evaristo Galindo either lived in El Paso or Houston. Santos either lived in Houston or San Antonio.

I know we had relatives in Corpus Christi but I'm not sure what their names would've been. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, Racquel. I, too, would be very interested in any information on these Galindos you've referenced. My 6th-great-grandfather, Nicolas Galindo, was in Mexico and came up to California on the Anza Expedition, and his descendants were raised there. However, I understand that my Galindo ancestry goes clear back to Spain, that one of the female Galindo ancestors was the governess to Queen Isabella and influenced her to help Columbus. I got this information from a letter my 3rd-great-grandfather wrote to one of his nieces. Could you please contact me at my email address: mom2her@yahoo.com? I'd love to communicate with you!

I have encountered this family in Ottoman records. They may have been marriage records. My experience is that there are very few post expulsion Galindos who remained Jewish into the 19th and 20th centuries.

Hi Laura,
You might be related to the Galindo's in Concord , CA. But I was told as a child that we were related to the Peraltas also. I am so at a deadend with the Galindo line. My great grandfather was named Leandro Galindo. I have a copy of his death certificate. He died in about 1899. My grandfather Reno Charles Galindo and his brother Harry Galindo were just babies, He died in Alameda County, California. On Leandro's Death certificate it said his fathers name was Zafarino Galindo, I have also have seen it spelled Sefareno....There is a large Peralta and Galindo's that resided and were part of the building of Oakland, San Leandro area. My grandmother had told me when I was young and I still have it written down, the siblings of Leandro Galindo, but I cannot really read them anymore. I would bet that we are related.

My grandmother's maiden name was Galindos. Her father's name was Isaac. My great grandfather came to America to join his brother Abraham Galindos. I think there was another brother here as well, Jacob. They all lived in New York City in the early 1900's. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

You mention a book? What is the name of it? You also mentioned a list of siblings that you can't read anymore. Can you get it enlarged at Kinko's? I am looking for family of my mother-in-law's father who died when she was 4 years old (1918). My mother-in-law's name was Josephine Margaret Silva, born 2/27/1914. She doesn't know what happened to her father's family. She died in 2000, so I am now curious for my children and grandchildren. Her name is Josephine Margaret Silva. Her father's name is Joseph Galindo Silva. He was a jockey. He was 29 when he died in Oakland, CA. His mother, Josephine's paternal grandmother, Frances (Fanny or Frannie) Galindo Silva, was from Spain; as was her Aunt Josie Galindo who lived in San Francisco. There is a sister Gertrude Galindo Silva. My mother-in-law said the family was quite connected to SF, Concord, Oakland, Berkeley ... If you think there is a connection, I do have a picture of Joseph, Frances and Josie, all taken at the turn of the century. You can e-mail me at elizabeth_marie@comcast.net Thank you so much ...

I'm an American Galindo, but my parents and grandparents are/were Cuban, and the Cubans are direct desendientes of the
Spanish, who are in Europe. My great grandfather is Spanish. My
Grandpa said,"Todos los Galindos so familia en Espana."But common sence would tell us that if you have a last name, you have it through 1 of 3 ways,by :1.blood,2.marriage,or 3.slav
- ory. Therefore ALL Galindos are kin.I would wish to start learning EVERYTHING about the family.I do know through the "
wonderful"Internet a site that shows our families shield. Now
I wish I knew what our last name means.Well it was nice answering you.I might check back to see if someone answers to this.Well Good Bye For Now.And I'm not being mean,I'm just informing you.Bye !
