Galinski is supposedly the Polish spelling for Galinskas which is a Lithuianian name. My great grandfather was Ignacy Galinski. He came to the US in 1902. On most census information he is listed as being Polish and speaking Russian. My grandmother, Nellie Galinski (Aniela, also a Polish Spelling) claimed that she was from Vilna Lithuania. I am today awaiting a research report which supposedly will tell me the village or town that the family lived in. My great grandmother, Maria came in 1906. She had two children and made it from Balitomore to Casper Wyoming, not speaking English with $50.00. Quite a feat I would say.
