Dolores M. (Linse) Gallagher, age 95,
died Saturday, February 9, 2013, in Stockton, California. Born in Erie on March 28, 1917, she was a daughter of the late John and Rose (Fischer) Linse. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 2001, and three sisters, Eleanor Fryer, Loretta Wagner and Ruth Hollarn. Survivors include daughter, Patricia, and her husband James Thompson, of Stockton, Calif.; granddaughters, Molly Nutley, and her husband Steve, and their children, James and Emma, and Kelly Thompson. Dolores attended Villa Maria College and was a teacher for several years in Catholic elementary schools. She and her husband, Jim, were married in 1946 and they enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, dancing, and going on cruises. They moved to Stockton in 1995 and resided at O'Connor Woods Retirement Community. She attended Hospice home training sessions and volunteered to shop, do errands, and cook for families involved in the program. While living in Stockton, Dolores volunteered at St. Mary's Interfaith Community, organizing clothing distribution and helping the children at the school. She was an avid baker. Friends may call Friday from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard and may attend a prayer service there Saturday at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament Church at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
