Hi,
My grandmother was Pearl Ivy Gallahar who was born in Louisiana and died in Talladega, AL at a very young age. She was married to Fred Jefferson Bridges and they had 12 children. Are they any relation? I believe Pearl's father was William Cicero Gallahar but can't find out for sure. Do you have any info?

Thanks

I do not know her date of birth or death.

If she rings a bell with any of you I'd love to here so I can update that section of my family tree!

I have been looking for Cicero Gallahar for many years! Family lore says that great great grand mother was Katherine Caroline Gallahar who came over on a boat from Arlingham Scottland with her brother Cicero. Katherine married David (?) Ellison. They were in or passed through Cedar Town GA. Does any of this sound familiar? Please email me if it does at vrfclk@hotmail.com.

I have your grandmother down as one of 10 children born to William Cicero Gallahar and Sally Englund. I do not have a birth or death date for your grandmother. My info says she married Fred Bridges in 1911. Is that correct? I also have her down as having 12 children. Could you give me their names also. My grandfather was John Henry Gallahar, born 1903-1984. He was married to Arvertie Bradford in 1923. My father is one of 8 children, his name is Douglas Gallahar. My grandfather is buried in Ironaton church of christ cemetary in Talladega or Munford Alabama. We have no info on W.Cicero and Sally. I do have more info on their other children. Thanks for posting!

Sarah Mateer/Charles Gallahar

I am researching the Mateer family and am looking for this connection. Sarah Mateer apparently married a Charles Gallahar (this spelling). I have no dates but it would have to be late 1800s (perhaps 1880-1890 or beyond) possibly in Illinois. Sarah (one of 10 children of George and Margaret Mateer) was born around 1860-1861 and was listed on the 1870 census in Greenwood Township, Christian Co. IL., as a domestic for William and Rachel Greenfield, who had two-year old twins (John and Ann). Sarah and Charles apparently had no children, so I am looking for any birth, marriage, and death for both these individuals. Can anyone please help?

Thomas Galahar

The information I have is Thomas was born in PA in 1764. His father camto to PA from Donnegal Ireland sometimes before 1766. His father's name was James and his mother was Sarah.

Thomas had six brothers and two sisters. They were
James
George
David
John
Benjamin
Joseph
Nancy
Jane

I am trying to find information about Susan Galahar who married Elijah Lawson in about 1808.. She was born in VA about 1787 and she died in 1850 in Madison County TN. We have looked for 50 years for this woman's parents.
I'm pretty sure she is somehow connected with one of the above familys but I'm not sure how.

Sharon Winsatt (swinsatt@hotmail.com)

Has anyone ran across the spelling Gallahaire? This is my grandmother's maiden name, and we seem to be the only ones with this spelling. I would also be interested on how to find information about our ancestry Clan. Thanks! ElvesandUnicorns@aol.com

Thomas Gallahar

Looking for information on Thomas Gallahar
born February 19, 1764. Not sure where he
was born but could have been PA. He married
Sarah Green in Washington County, TN. He was
reported to be a very close friend of Thomas
Jefferson and owned a place near Oak Ridge, TN that was referred to as "The Horse Farm".
They had at least one daughter named Nancy
Green Gallahar. Several people have told me
that there is lots written about this family
and other family memebers but I have not been
able to locate much.
