Francisco Gallego is my father. He was born in 1908, however, his father was Augustine Gallego who was then married to my grandmother Carolina Rabago de Gallego. Leopoldo Rabago is my uncle and Eleonor Gallego is my aunt. My grandmother, dad, aunt Eleonor crossed the Douglas boarder November 28, 1920 when my dad was 14 yrs old. There is a possibility that we are related.

To whose last name is Gallego,

I know it is diffucult to come across any distant relatives , but stop and think about this for a second our last name is related to a province of Spain called Galicia, anyone living in that province is called a "Gallego". For my family side I am the third Guillermo of the Gallego bloodline currently 22 I am aware of my
great grandftaher's name is Marcos Gallego and that would place him somewhere in the 1800's in Colombia form where I am originally, but I am certain he decends from Spain if there is anyone with a common realtive please e=mail me at guillermo.10.gallego@gmail.com I believe it is important to know our roots, Thanks,

Guilermo Gallego.

I was typing without my records in front of me and I got the two sides of the family mixed up. Sorry!

According to census records Ella, Herbert, Christine and Lille Grummett's Mothers maiden name was Dixon and she and her husband, James Endicott Grummett were born in Canada. I have noticed that you have her maiden name as Dinon.

Endicott was the Maiden name of her husband's mother, Mary, according to all records I have. If you have other information please let me know.
I apologize for my mistake.

Hi. You indicated that the maiden name of Lillie (Grummett) Gallego's mother was Endicott. I thought that the name of Lillie's mother was Isabel L. Dinon. In fact, Lillie's death record indicates that her mother's maiden name was Dinon, not Endicott. Can you help me to clear up this conflict?

I don't see a birth record or a death record for your sister within the State of California. She must have been born in Arizona.

One other note: The maiden name of Dorothea's and Barbara's mother could have been McQuien, rather than McEwen. The the 'McEwen' is listed on both of her daughters' birth records, but the name 'McQuien' is listed on Barbara's death record. I'm guessing that the birth records are the more accurate ones, though 'McQuien' is a legitmate surname.

Okay, your other two aunts both were born in San Joaquin County, California. Dorothea Gallego was born 22 Jul 1939 and Barbara Irving Gallego was born 28 Jul 1940. The maiden name of their mother was McEwen. I do not know Miss McEwen's first name.

Miss McEwen must have been your grandfather's first wife, whom he must have married sometime around 1937/1938.

Thank you for providing me with Miss DeLong's first name.

I find only two children (Timmy and you) born to Reinaldo William Gallego and Clara May Elkins. Did your sister that died at birth have a different mother, or was she born outside of the State of California?

The friend that I grew up with (and for whom I have created a Gallego database) is Lisa Danielle Gallego, daughter of Lester Oliver Gallego and (1st wife) Marlene Joy Sola. Lester is your grandfather's youngest sibling - he is living in Stockton, California still.
I am not related to this family, but grew up with a Gallego, for whom I was looking into the family tree.

I have a few notes for you, Kimberly.

Irving Gallego's middle name is listed as Endicott (not Indicott) consistently. He married Miss DeLong (not sure of her first name) circa 1941. They had seven children that I know about:

(1) Irving Frank Gallego (not Frank Irving), born 25 Apr 1943.
(2) Juanita Kathleen Gallego (her first name is misspelled 'Wonita' on her birth certificate), born 03 Jul 1944.
(3) Ordeen Dee Gallego, born 17 Jul 1945, died 26 Nov 1945 in San Joaquin County.
(4) Joseph Si Gallego, born 02 Aug 1946.
(5) Reinaldo William Gallego (his first name is misspelled 'Reynaldo' on his birth certificate), born 13 Jan 1952, died 25 Nov 1999.
(6) Kenneth Daniel Gallego, born 27 Apr 1955.
(7) George R. Gallego, born 25 Nov 1956.

All of Irving's and Ms. DeLong's children were born in San Joaquin County, California, except for George. George was born in Madera County, California.

Irving Endicott Gallego next married Louise Taylor on 03 Feb 1979 in Reno, Nevada.

Re: Reinaldo Gallego

I don't know if I can connect your family, or not. The name 'Reinaldo Gallego' caught my attention. I have a database that contains a Reinaldo Gallego, but born much earlier than your father.

I have a Reinaldo Nicholas Gallego, born 06 Oct 1884 in California and died 03 Mar 1956 in San Joaquin County, California (probably Stockton). He married Lillie Bell Grummett. They had at least seven children:

1. Male Gallego, born and died 1912.
2. Eudora Gallego, born 1914; died 2003; married a Rede.
3. Irving Endicott Gallego, born 1917; died 1986.
4. June W. Gallego, born 1918; died 2006; married a Acosta.
5. Melvin Gallego, born 1919; probably died 1920-1930.
6. Howard N. Gallego, born 1922.
7. Lester Oliver Gallego, born 1926.

All of these Gallegos lived in and around Stockton all of their lives.

The maiden name of Reinaldo Nicholas Gallego's mother is listed as Vanzuela on his death record, but actually may have been Valenzuela.

I also find a Reinaldo Gallego, born 17 Apr 1860 in California and died 14 Dec 1940 in San Joaquin County, California, whose mother's maiden name was Carsco. I have not yet been able to prove the relationship, but believe that he may have been the father of Reinaldo Nicholas Gallego.

Do any of these names sound familiar to you? Perhaps one of the males above is your great-grandfather?

My family (on my mothers side) were Gallego from Magdalena and El Verde (minining towns) in Sonora (northern) Mexico. My uncle (Francisco Gallego) was born in 1908 in Magdalena, Sonora and his father (Francisco Gallego) was born in Magdalena Sonora in approximately 1880 and he died as a result of a mining accident in El Verde Sonora in 1923. The Gallego family moved to Jerome Arizona in 1924 to pursue copper mininng there. The widow Ms. Gallego was in her second relationship, she had previously been married to the Rabago family also from Magdalena (or thereabouts) Sonora. From that relationship she had two children. One was Leopoldo Rabago (born in 1901 and died in 1982 in Fresno, California and the other was a younger sister that was
also born in Magdalena and died in Mexico in 1980

I may be able to get some information on the Gallego family from my aunt (Elenor Gallego Lopez....the only surviving family member of the senior Gallego family). Please contact me to see if there is any connection.

Gallgeo/Gallegos from Villaldama Boca de Leones

My gggrandfather Manuel Gallegos was born in Villaldama Boca de Leones on June 17, 1872. He Married Nieves Villarreal, daughter of Cosme Villarreal and Paula de los Santos. Manuel's father was Jose Maria Gallegos born about 1848 in Villaldama. He married Maria Herlinda Caso on June 26, 1868. They had a daughter Ramona Gallegos born about 1879. I am searching for any other children or names of Gallegos from Villaldama or information from where the gallegos from that area originated. I've heard that the gallegos came from Guadalajara, but need some help. Jose Maria's father was Pablo Gallegos who married Maria Ramona Ruiz on May 28, 1834. Beside Jose Maria they had other children, Policarpo who married Maria de Jesus Alvarado on May 15, 1862, Jose Antonio Gallegos born about 1839 and Juan Gallegos who died on August 6, 1835. I believe Pablo Gallegos father was Maximo Gallegos who married Maria Dionicia Rodriguez. They may have had a daughter Maria del Pilar Gallegos. That is about the extent of my knowledge so far. Any help would be appreciated on the parents of Maximo Gallegos. HE may have been from Sabinas or other jurisdiiton. Thanks.

Dear Mr. Roy Gallego,
I read your posting about Francisco Gallego. I do not know much about my Gallego Family. Probably we are related with Francisco Gallego. I know that my grandfather was Plutarco Gallego Urrea and my father was Fernando Gallego Estrella(Magdalena, Sonora, 1923). Do you can follow that line? I really would appreciate any information about it. In the event I could get some information within my relatives I will share whit you inmediatly.
My best regards.
Fernando Gallego Hopkins
Los Nogales 40, CP 83240, Hermosillo, Son.
Phone: +52+6+213.45.62
p.d. Do you speak Spanish?

Valentino Gallego

I am searching for info on my ggggrandfather Valentino Gallego. His daughter,my gggrandmother Gregoria Gallego was married to Quirino Lucero in Albuquerque,NM. I am assuming that Valentino also is from Albuq. Gregoria was born about 1847, so Valentino was probably born in the 1820s.

Cynthia Lucero
cthom39@idt.net
