Samuel Gallemore

I am looking for information about the parents of Samuel Gallemore, who was born about 1774 or 1775 in Virginia or No. Carolina, and died about 1820. He was married to Martha Stanley. They had 12 or 13 children, one of whom was Jonathan Randolph Gallemore (1808-1878), my great grandfather.

My father, William Richard Gallemore, was, I think,
the elder brother of James. Dick was born in April 1907 in Bradford. I was born in 1940 in Shipley. I can trace the family back to Joseph and Jayne Galleymore who gave birth to James in Chorley in 1806. James brought the family to Bradford in the 1850's.

Kathrine ("Katie") Lee Gallamore or Gallemore was born August 1, 1900 in San Angelo, TX according to my family source.
She married Samuel Ozias Casey (b: October 22, 1895, Killeen, TX) April 2, 1917 in Scurry Co, TX. Kathrine died in Bethany, OK, August 3, 1962.

Would love to learn more about Kathrine and her family....

John Stephen Gallemore and Virginia Carol Jolley

Looking for information on this family. They lived in Pasadena, Harris County, Texas. Virginia had one son by this man, a Robert John Gallemore b. July 5, 1963. Virginia then married a Patrick Fullerton and they lived on Merle St in Pasadena.

I have a Larkin J Gallemore who married Susan Throgmorton b 1808, I don't know who his parents were but do you know if he was connected to Franklin L. Gallimore/Gallimore who married Martha Belle Throgmorton some time between 1880 and 1913. Franklin (known to the family as Fate) was married to Melinda ? on the 1880 Chalk Bluff Arkansas Census,(F. L. Gallimore) living with them is his sister Eliza C. Gallimore.

Please disregard earlier enquiry re James having been born in Bradford. Further research has shown that his birth was not registered there.He was born in 1912and died in 1955.We know think he was born in Skipton North Yorkshire ? after being abandoned by his parents.We also think his mothers maiden name could have been Cullen.There is also the possibility that his father originatd from somewhere in Ireland.He had a brother called Richard who remained in the Skipton area.

My Gallemore/Gallimore/Gallamore line starts in NC. At least that is what is claimed by the decendents of David and James Gallimore(sp?).

David and James were brothers born in NC around 1800. At this time, parents unknown. Also, they were probably of mixed race. White/Black/Indian.

Human Race I guess!

Gallemore of Bartow, Fl, and his brother's name is Gilbert Gallemore in VA. I also have aunts and uncles in FL, CA, VA, and TN. I am related to Dan Gallemore in TN also. Is any of this familiar?

George Washington Gallemore

I was just in Newton County Missouri and visited what is known as the Sparlin or Gallemore Cemetery between Seneca and Racine Missouri. One of the persons buried there was George Washington Gallemore.
His tombstone reads GEO W. Gallemore ; June 8, 1846 to June 11, 1918 Gone But Not Forgotten. I could arrange to have a copy made if you would like. Other Gallemore people buried here include Arrena, Arthur, John H. S., Jesse M. Louisa J., Nelson John, Lucy, Frederick, Jacob D. Stata A and Truman F. I come out of Frederick's father's line. Frederick's father's name was Noah Gallemore born Rowan County North Carolina. Later moved to Morgan County Indiana and then to Newton County, Missouri. Earl died in 1968 and is burried at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas. His daughter Ruby June was my mother. Her brother Ernest Leroy and her sister Ethel Mae are both deceased. My mother lives in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born in 1925.

I have ran across a George Washington Gallemore - son of Frederick Gallemore - son of Noah Gallemore. I have read about him on the gen forum. I have it marked in my favorites and go there from time to time. If you are interested I think I know someone who can check the name for you. Just let me know. P.S. Try looking for Gallimore also it seems there were some changes in the spelling.

I am unable to make a connection to George Gallemore. My grandfather was Lester Earl Gallemore who lived at various times in Greenwood County, Kansas, St. Joseph Missouri, France during WWI and most of his life at the Soldier's home near Ft. Leavenworth in Kansas.

Mom said nobody else has the same spelling as ours. My Grandfather's name was Gilbert Allen Gallemore. Born Dec. 1881. Died 16 Sept 1933 in Fresno, CA. He was born in Kansas City, MO. Eli's parents were Isom Gallemore, b. 25 Sep 1799 in NC; d. 03 Mar 1859, Berlin, Clinton Co., IN. Eli's mother was Judith Bentley, b. 26 Feb 1904, Wayne Co., NC; d. 03 Apr 1894, Herdland, Clay Co., IA. Isom and Judith were married in Clinton Co., OH on 09 Mar 1822.

I'm following Larkin's other son, George W., who was married to Mary Elizabeth Perkins. I haven't gotten anywhere with the Perkins name, its just so common its overwhelming. I am following his second wife, Mary E. Throgmorton. I do have that Larkin was b. 1802 in NC and d.1874 in McKenzie, Weakley Co., TN.

A good site that seems to have all the info correct (although is always hard to verify) http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~ruthhall/Gallimore/GallimoreL... . It says it's updated by a Ruth Hall, and she has quite a bit of detail in it. So far, I haven't found any errors there! She too, doesn't have Larkin's parents, but maybe there will be some information you could find helpful.
