I am looking to trace the descendants and/or relatives of William Galley (my grandfather). He married Molly Hill in the Sheffield or Nottingham area probably around 1931 - 1933. (If you are reading this and the William Galley you know married someone else please read on) They had a son Brian Galley (my father). William Galley left Molly before Brian was 18 months old. Molly 16 at the time left Brian to be raised by a neighbour of a friend in Sheffield. William Galley disappeared. The marriage was catholic so it was never annulled. William Galley had a brother who lived in Sheffield who Brian saw occasionally on his way home from school as a child. That was the only contact with side of the family. It is possible that William Galley could have landed anywhere (I believe Galleys have wandering feet - my Galley family members do). It is also possible that William Galley remarried later, and that his descendants have no clue about his previous marriage, or their relationship to our Galley family. Brian Galley is currently 78 years old, and I believe William was possibly in his 20's when Brian was born. Therefore, it's possible William Galley was born somewhere between 1895 - 1908 most likely in the British midlands
