Unfortunately I am descended through the maternal line (Zelma Grace Galyean b. 1906 d. 1999 is my grandmother on my father's side) so I can't participate in the study but I have been able to verify that her father, Fred Anson Galyean, was born in Iowa in 1872 and both of his parents (don't know the first names) were born in Northern Ireland.

My guess is his parents were probably born circa 1840-1850 in Northern Ireland. Has anyone else been able to trace the Galyeans into Northern Ireland around this time?
