Re: John William Galloupe

I may have found John as a child! In the 1870 Census for 5th Ward, Quincy, Illinois I found a David Galloupe with wife Kate A. (both born in PA) and children John (12-so the birth year fits!), George C. (8), Mary E. (6), Benjamin (3), and Anna B. (1). First three kids born in MO, last 2 in IL.

I found this same David as a 17y old in the 1850 census for Montgomery Co., IL with parents Benjamin & Sally (both born in NY) & children all born in PA: Benjamin (20), then David, Syntha (15) and James (5)
There is a second Galloup family list above them that is probably father Benjamin's brother (they're 2 years apart):
John (54), Margarett (19), George (2), and John (6M).

Howard C. Galloupe

I am seeking information on Howard C. Galloupe. He was living in California. On a census he is listed with nephew Oran Branscombe. Oran was my uncle and I am trying to figure out where the Galloupe family fits in. I would love to find Howard's obituary as I believe he died in 1938 and it might shed some light.
Thanks for any help or information.
Nancy

Galloupe Iowa/Minnesota/Montana

I have Ellen Jane Silver who was born in 1849 in IA. She married a Galloupe. They lived in MN and I find her and one child in sseveral census records. She is listed as married until the 1920 census where she is a widow. Son William H. Galloupe was born about 1869 in MN. He was married twice, lived in SD for a short time and migrated to MT where they remained. I have names of his children and more. Looking to connect with cousins. I have a lot of info. to share. I suspect the first Galloupe or his father was born in France.

I am looking for my Grandfather's parents and any brothers and sisters that he may have had. I don't know any of their names. My Grandfather, John William Galloupe, was supposed to have been born July 27, 1858, in either Keokuk, IA or Quincy, ILL. He moved to Texas prior to 1879, because he married Rebecca Francis Bennett on Dec 28, 1879 in Texas. I am his grandson from his third wife, Mary Alice James Teague Galloupe. He had 10 daughters, 1 son, 1 step son and 1 step daughter. My father, J W Galloupe, was his only son.
Thank you
John Galloupe
