Hi Ashley,

I can't help with your family-tree. But I can mention something which might be just an FYI for you.

About 4 times a year I drive by a farm near my home where a special breed of cows reside. I finally became curious what breed they were and found out they are called "Belted Galloways."

Their nickname is "Oreo cows." They were in the Boston, MA, TV news just a couple of weeks ago. They had wandered off another farm about 25 minutes from my home.

FYI:
Galloway (Scottish Gaelic: Gall-Ghaidhealaibh, pronounced [əŋ ɡaulˠ̪ɣəlˠ̪əv] or Gallobha, Lowland Scots Gallowa, meaning "Land of the Foreign Gaels") is an area in southwestern Scotland. It usually refers to the former counties of Wigtownshire (or historically West Galloway) and Kirkcudbrightshire (or historically East Galloway). It is part of the Dumfries and Galloway council area of Scotland.

Good luck with finding out about the GALLOWAY surname.
