I'm looking for the parents of a Galloway baby born in the summer or early fall 1847 and left as in infant in the care of Mrs. Robbins by the father shortly after the mother died. The area where the baby was taken into care by Mrs. Smith would have been in Ohio or Pennsylvania. The baby would have been born there, or in the Atlantic Ocean to parents immigrating to the US. The adoptive parents listed the baby's place of birth as being in Ohio on one census and the Atlantic Ocean on another. The baby is my great-great grandpa and I want to identify his birth parents. Unfortunately the only solid information I have is the birth year, general birth months, and surname. The surname was kept as the babies middle name.
