Is anyone here descended of Elisha Gallup of Stonington (Joseph/Benadam/John/John) moved to Hartland, VT 1778? He and his son Joseph responded to the Royalton Alarm 1781 (DAR status). His wife was Mercy or Marcy Denison.

I am mainly interested in learning more about what happened to the family once they went to Canada. Elisha's son Joseph went to Melbourne 1800 (the same year Elisha died), somehow established a place called "Gallup's Hill" and then his son Ezekiel bought Medina Township, Lenawee County, MI 1837. Ezekiel's son was named Aylmer, and Aylmer was the governor of Canada from 1831 to 1835. So, I am interested in finding out whether they knew the governor.

The Gallups always seem to run in interesting circles :)
