Yes, it looks as tho we are cousins. (probably x2) I have Christopher, and Sarah, then I have Bazzel, but I never knew his wife!!!& Bazzel Jr. Thanks, I guess she would be mine, unless he married more than once? My next line is the line that marries into the Smalleys, but I cannot recollect at this moment the names. What is your Mothers name for my records? Christopher is in my family twice, thru my grandmother Phoebe Ethel Hilterbran Newman. Clarence Edward Newman was my grandfather, and her husband.
I recieved a card on my fathers monument from a lady in Arkansas, I believe Fort Smith? saying she wanted to talk to me, when I called her back, she had passed away, but she said the Newmans, and the Boyds were related!!! I believe the connection to me comes from Bazzel and Nancy Boyd who was Shawnee, and one of thier sons, cannot remember his name?? I will try to get time to look this up. Did you ever hear of Jenny Cross,(raised by a Cross family) being kidnapped from Tecemseh, she was one of his daughters, and she marr. Shedreck Penn. Jenny and Shedreck, had Fanny Penn, who marr Thomas Newman, and the had Mary Newman, marr a Marcus? This is as far as I know on this, so there is more than one Indian!!! The Fort Smith connection(which is listed as Indian Territory) is supposedly George Honn/Horn,either Ind, or Ill, or both for parents, and Dora Hon, I am sorry going to have to do some digging. But she may have been Indian, since she was born in Indian Territory, of Fort Smith, Ark.
They had 3-4 sons, and one daughter, I think my gr grandmother was Georges sister?? and I also found a George Honn/Horn living with his Indian Mother,Lizzette, I believe in Tx, or Oklahoma, and he states he was born in Germany, but both are listed as Indians. My gr grandmother was Elizabeth Margaret, or Margaret Elizabeth (Maggie) Honn/Horn, abt 1863, she marr Andrew Bird Newman, 1847, Adams Co., Ohio. She was married most likely 5 times!!! She gave different names, first and last, different dates of birth, but she always had her children with her, which gave it all away! She marr a JONES, a Hawse,(or Haws) Newman, Shoemaker, Dodds!!!Granpa said she carried a big knife, to make sure all her sons helped her with all the work!!!She only spoke broken English! It is like they say, If you find one Indian, you will find more if you look!!!You may write me direct at weilela47@yahoo.com. That way it will go straight to my cell phone! I am so glad you wrote to me!!!!! Where are you, I am in Arizona. I am 65. Born in Adams Co.Ohio, but have lived out west for over 30 years. Would love to get this straightned out with you. THANKS FOR WRITING TO ME! Linda k Juanice Newman
