Lillian J. Pertl Galuska, 88 formerly of Fairview died at her daughter Jean's home, surrounded by her family on Thursday Februrary 28, 2008. Lillian was born June 21, 1919 in Cranesville, a daughter of the late Frank and Antoinette Feres Pertl.
She was raised in the Mohawk Road, Franklin Twp. area and had worked at the Marx Toy Company in Girard for 23 years as an assembler. She had also worked at Lord Corporation as well. She was a member of the Girard Alliance Church and was known throughout the West County area as a professional dress maker. As a dress maker she made most of the family clothes as well as many wedding dresses. She enjoyed gardening and baking. She was preceded in death by her husband John D. Galuska, whom she married June 21, 1942 in Cranesville; a brother, Frank Pertl and a sister-in-law, Margaret Galuska. She is survived by three daughters, Jean A. Duncan and her husband Perry of Girard, Karen M. Galuska of Manassas Park, Va., Diane R. Fleischer and her husband Bruce of Round Hill, Va.;
two sisters, Martha Rickard of Girard
and Rose Jones and her husband Jonathan of Girard; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Duncan and his wife Pamela, Scott Duncan and his fiance', Karen Warhola and her daughter Katarina, Pamela Wisinski and her husband Tony, Joshua and Jennifer Fleischer; four great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Braeden Duncan, Malik and Treyton Wisinski; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Pertl of Girard and Olga Galuska of Fairview and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. at the Girard Alliance Church, 229 Rice Ave., Girard. Services will be held there on Monday at 10a.m., Rev. Clyde Davis Pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Girard Alliance Church or to Great Lakes Hospice, 1700 Peach St., Ste.244, Erie, PA 16501. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, Girard.
