The Butterowe that was married was the brother of Judge Butterowe in Galveston. Butterowe has a street named after him. It is commonly referred to as 61st Street. Technically, it is Butterowe. As far as Criss Susan Criss, daughter of Llod Criss of La Marque is a residing Judge in Galveston County currently.

I know of some Connett and Boenings but would need more info (names) to determine if they are in the same lineage.

I have never done geneology but, I can help a little.

Ok, I have a little more info. It will take me awhile to get it out of my father ... he is old and I am not sure how much he knows. We are not direct descendents, though. Somehow we are related by marriage as a cousin to Carrie (Kirchener).

Carrie married a Kirchener. They had three children Georgie who died in WWI, Eddie, and Harry. Harry Kirchener is who my father grew up with. Dad's last name is Hughes. His father's name- Aaron Lee Hughes
You did not make any reference to Connett's in your paragraph. I knew of some while growing up in early 60's . I think his name may have been Edward although I do not know for sure- I can find out.

Concerning Carrie Kirchner I knew of a lady by this name but, I think she was born much earlier. I can check that out also. Did she have children?

Are you looking for particular teachers? My dad went to Goliad, Austin and Ball High. He speaks about his teachers all the time. I could give you more teachers' name if you need more names.

He speaks quite often of Greta Oppe. Galveston ISD has name as school after her. He said that she was a single woman. So I am not sure what descendants she would have.

Let me know

Hilder Y. Anderson and Albertina B. Anderson's children

Swedish immigrant Hilder Y. [H.Y.] Anderson and his wife had
two children, according to the wife's obituary after she died in December of 1874. The obit did not name the children, but one was Lillian Greta Anderson, supposedly born in Palestine, Texas. Our family believes Albertina Anderson may have died in childbirth, but even if she did not, we seek the name of the second child, believed to be a sister.

Hilder Anderson was listed as still living in Galveston in the 1875-86 city directory. Galveston doesn't have a death cert for Albertina. Any help would be appreciated, as we know Texas did not require that birth info be kept at this time. Thanks for any help at all!
Rodefeld, Butterowe, Kirchner, Criss, Connett, Boening

My father Henry Edward Criss, b 11 Aug 1916 Galveston Island, TX, d 28 Feb 2001, Texas City, Galveston Co, TX. His grandmother was Anna Marie Rodefeld, who was born in Galveston in March 1863; she married Lloyd Parks Criss, b 1859 in Baltimore MD.

I am researching this Rodefeld line. My gg-grandfather William Frederick Rodefeld, born in Germany, came to U.S. in 1858 on the Weser, from Borgholzhausen, Westfalen, Preussen. Married Mena Stricker in 1859. They had 3 daughters: Minnie (Butterowe), Annie (Criss), and Carrie (Kirchner). Fred Rodefeld died in 1867 of yellow fever. Mena married again, to her deceased husband’s cousin, Henry Rodefeld, b in 1837 in Borgholzhausen, Westfalen, Preussen. This was his second marriage also. His first wife was Catherine Cordes; this marriage was dissolved by petition to the State of Texas; no children. Mena and Henry Rodefeld had 3 children. There is an bio of Henry Rodefeld published in the book “The History Book of Texas.” Mena and Henry had three children: two who lived to adulthood: Anne (Boening) and William (did not marry).

I’m looking for other persons who are descended from the same line.
