Hi - I'm the grandaughter of George & Alfreda. My dad is Keith Finecey.

To my knowledge George and Alfreda had 3 children together: Georgia (Jody), Keith, Debbie.

Alfreda also had other children (not with George): Francis (Butch), Linda, and Charles.

George had other children (not with Alfreda):Patrica, Diane, George, and Frank.

I came across these posts when looking for my grandmother's burial place. Thanks for posting. It was also nice seeing some photos of my grandparents (since I never met them) online.

I am a descendant of james h gambill and esther bidwell of wayne county, tn. I found information from a book in rutherford co archives that james h was a son of thomas bradley gambill and sussanna nash. I do not have any other information that this is correct. There are several homes on Gambill Creek that I'll have to talk to my mother about to find out who exactly lived where. We own the Gambill family cemetery and within the nex month I'll be visiting and will take photos of individual headstones. I'll post photos and/or email them directly to you.

I am descended from Henry's father, William Gambrel, who came from SC to Kentucky and then Indiana c 1812. I cannot find a death certificate for this William, who died in Feb. 1828, at age 58. If you have a photo of the gravestone from his grave, I would appreciate a copy.

hi, do you have the old home place of william that has the big rock up by i think it is gambill creek road. my grandmother used to tell me there was an old grave yard there that i guess william and others were buried and it washed away in the 1916 flood along with the mill stone.

I descend from: Henry Gambill, John Gambill, William Gambill, Samuel Johnson Gambill, Bynum Gambill, Wiley Gambill, Ella Sue Gambill (my mother). We still own land on "Gambill Creek" just below Walnut Grove Baptist Church. And we also own the Gambill family centenary where Samuel Gambill is buried. So I guess we're cousins too! Aunt Laurie had serveal kids ( as in all the Gambill's ) Would you be so kind as to give me info on them. Names, DOB, married to whom. I have been working on ancestry for along time and still trying to complete just one side of the family. Durward was my father I have not seen Nellie in many years. I don't remember a Vera, did she go another name ?

Hi! Nellie Jo is my aunt. My mom (Vera) is Nellie Jo's sister. Aunt Jo lives in Indiana now near most of the other brothers and sisters. Bill has passed away, but I'm not sure of the specifics on his death.

Alfreda Gambill Finecey is the 2nd wife of my Great Uncle George Howard Finecey, Baltimore, Md. Alfreda is buried at Moreland Memorial Park Cemetery in Parkville,Md. along with my Great Grandmother Margaret J. Bell Finecey and other members of the Finecey family.

Alfreda Finecey, Section D, Lot 624A, site #4. d.11/4/1965, husband of George.

It is my understanding that they had 4 children together: Dorothy, Frank, Keith and Georga(Jody).

i am descended from William "Pete" Gambill b. 1793-1802 in Wilkes Co., N.C. In about 1824k he married Elizabeth Alexander b. 1803 in Wilkes. The migrated to ky and appear in 1840 breathitt county census with 5 children, i believe to be john jefferson b. 1826, 3 females, one of them Fanny b. 1832, on Sally b. 1838. john jefferson is my gr. grandfather, he married Betty Spencer, one of their childrenjefferson davis gamble was my mother's father.
I amtrying to find Pete's parents. He had at least one sibling, Alfred Gamble, b.1807 in Wilkes.

I am researching Henry Gambill's grandson, William.
William was the son of the William who died 1779. The will that was left gave most of the land to his elder sons, and the young William (about 9 years old) had to share what was left with his sisters.Does anyone know if this young William moved to SC when he was about 16? He married in 1797 to Winnifred Elkins, daughter of Shadrack Elkins, who was a scout for the army in NC. Shadrack had also moved to SC, and I am wondering if the young William travelled with the Elkins family to SC.

Henry Gambill's son, William, was born about 1737 and I am not sure about his date of death. His will was dated Aug 1779 and the inventory of his estate was done in Sept 1779. There are numerous websites that detail the will and the inventory of the estate. I would check the message boards to read the will as he mentioned his children: Thomas, Henry, William, James, Sarah, Mary and Jesse. The location was Wilkes Co., North Carolina.

I have a Henry Gambill married to Marie Davenport, had a son named William Gambill who died 1799 at Wilkes, NC.
William had son James Gambill, b 1765 Culpepper, VA , married at Wilkes NC, James had son William Gambill, b NC, d Fannin, TX. William had daughter Mary who married Samuel Dalton. They had daugfhter Nancy Dalton who married Thomas Sanders and then J. T. Wilsford. Nancy had daughter Irene Wilsford who wss my grandmother.

This is my line, does it match anyone else, is it the same Henry Gambill?

Lillie Mae Gambill was born on May 11, 1912, in Clinton County, Illinois, a daughter of Charles and Bertie (Lewis) Orrell. She married Claude L. Gambill on February 18, 1929, in Carlyle and he preceded her in death on August 9, 1985.

Mrs. Gambill was a home maker, a member of Tamalco Christian Church and was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Carlyle. She was a 60-year member of the Rebekah Lodge and was Past Noble Grand, a charter member of Home Extension and a member of the Club of the Month. She enjoyed quilting and crafts, gardening and bingo.

Lillie Mae Gambill entered into rest on Saturday, February 19, 2011, at Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Greenville. She was 98 years of age.

Surviving are her children – Betty Elliott of Keyesport, Velma Wade and husband Burnell of Branson West, Missouri and Karen Segelken and husband Larry of Troy, Illinois; an honorary daughter – Bettie McCullah; her grandchildren – Bobby Elliott, Susan Collman (Tim), Terry Milliman (Richard), Claudia Gum (Kevin), Linda Zitkus (Michael), Diane Connery, Vickie Anderson (Tom), Thomas Gambill (Lori), James Gambill (Johnna), Kenneth Gambill (Mary), Janet Black, Robert Gambill (Robin), Lenny Ersery (Bobbie), Kristina Johnson (Brian), and Edward McCullah; her step-grandchildren – Lora Peterson (Darrell) and Ross Segelken (Kelli); 35 great grandchildren and 25 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; a son – Dean Gambill; sons-in-law – John D. Elliott and George McCullah; a daughter-in-law – Hatsue “Gloria” Gambill; two grandchildren – Tina Marie Elliott and Stanley Elliott; a sister – Fern Cain and a brother – Charles “Manny” Orrell.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle with Rev. Bill Bays, officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery near Keyesport. Visitation will be held at Zieren Day Funeral Home on Monday, February 21, 2011, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday morning from 8:00 – 10:30 A.M.

Expressions of sympathy in Mrs. Gambill’s memory are suggested to the Tamalco Christian Church or to Bond County Hospice and will be received at the funeral home.
