TIPTON, Iowa -- Ruth Gamble, 88, Tipton, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at her home as a result of Leukemia.
Services at Tipton Bible Church, Tipton. The Rev. Richard Smith will officiate. Burial will be at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Mount Vernon.
Visitation at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. A memorial has been established for the Iowa City Hospice and Church Missions.
Mrs. Gamble was born April 23, 1916, in Mount Vernon, the daughter of Ray and Coral (Stockton) Kirkpatrick. She married Maurice Leroy Gamble Dec. 7, 1937, in Mount Vernon. He preceded her in death Sept. 11, 1978.
She graduated from Lisbon High School in 1936.
She was a homemaker and a teachers' assistant at the Tipton Bible Church School.
She was a member of Tipton Bible Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Daubs and husband Larry of Center Point and Helen Miner and husband Gerald of Yates City, Ill.; a son, David Gamble and wife Sharon of Jenison, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maxine Sievers of Cedar Rapids and Verna Schulz and husband John of Mercer, Wis.; and a brother, Dean Kirkpatrick and wife Dody of Mechanicsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Opal Luerkens; and a brother, Arlo Kirkpatrick
