Trying to find past relatives from Somerset and wales.
My great grandfather was Francis John Gamlin, born approx, 1861 at Somerset.
Can't find any info on his parents, are you related to him.
My late father was John George Gamlin, he had an older brother Francis James Gamlin and sister betty gamlin.
My fathers father (we have only just found out his name) was Alexander Gilbert Gamlin, and he left Wales with his wife and son (francis) in 1914 for Australia.
At the time their daughter Betty was left behind, never to be seen again.

I have a Thomas John Gamlin born c1832 . Arrived Australia 1850 from Somerset age 18. Father is J Gamlin. Thats about all I know. If you have anything that may relate to this please let me know.

George Gamlin, 83, of La Mesa died Thursday. He was born in England and was an owner and operator of Gamlin Advertising Agency.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; and brother, Harold of England.

Private services were planned.

Arrangements: Conrad Lemon Grove Mortuary.
Published in the San Diego Union-Tribune on 5/10/2003.

Seeking any information regarding the Gamlin family in Cardiff. Robert Gamlin born approx 1854 Somerset (believe Milverton) married Caroline ?Coombes? cardiff sept qtr 1882.
Had 9 known children possibly more who died in infancy. Robert was a Tailor and is believed to have been a member of the masons in cardiff. They lived in and around the Canton area. Any info gratefully recieved. Thanks.

How did you find Gamlin info back to the 1600s? I'm having a terrible time -- would you want to share prior to John Gamlin that married Matilda Chapman in Somersetshire, England. Does the name MARCH appear in your records?
Will appreciate anything you want to share. My grandmother was a Gamlin in Missouri.

I have just started work on my family tree here in England. my paternal grandmother was a Gamlin and one of my distant relatives has done quite a bit of research on the Gamlin family we descend from. They were mostly around Shaftsbury, Dorset which is in the south. I must admit tho' that I am busy researching the Earwood name at present - just thought you might be interested to know that there are Gamlins over here !
There are far more Earwoods in the states than there are here and I have already made contact with some of them via the Earwood community website.

I, as well as Vicky who posted a reply to your message, are related. Vicky and I are anyway.
Both of our family trees said the child's name was Clayton but she never told me the change to Clinton. She also has listed a Myron but I do not. Vicky and I lost contact with each other awhile ago but we still ahve access to each others family website.
She is a descendant from Albert Gamelin and I come from his sister Mary Louise Gamelin. I have run across 4 different spellings of the last name: Gamlin, Gamelin, Gameline and Gamline, all of which I have seen on headstones and/or birthand death certificates. The only child I have of Mary Gamlin and Alfred Greenwood (Boisvert) is a George Donald Greenwood born February 5th, 1879. He was married to a Mina Tollefson (Tollefsen). She was born February 11, 1884 in Vigues, WI. and died May 12, 1956 in Racine, WI.
George Donald Greenwood I have as half Indian. If you have the same listing of names and dates these people happen to be my great grandparents on my fathers side. Please get back to me as soon as you can. This information may be more than what my aunt has in her records. Thanks. Mary

Yes I do have a Mary Gamlin born on January 26, 1854 in Toronto, Canada. Dont have a date when she died. The Alfred Greenwood that I have was born in Holbrook, Mass. and died in Marinette, WI. He had his name last name changed from Boisvert to Greenwood but dont have the date of change. Please email me with the information about the children. I think we have the same people here!
