Looking for Bernice A "Bunny" Gammon who married:
1. Florian L Roy 22 March 1940 (Maine) This couple had two children, Darlene, and William.
2. Napoleon J Blais 20 April 1946.
This couple had four children; Napoleon, Deborah, Janet, and Jeffery.
I'm looking for Bunny's parents and maybe grandparents. I grew up in Maine, and Bunny's daughters were my best friends.

My mother's family tree is full of Blais, Roy, Theriaults and lots of others that would connect me to Deborah and Janet.

I know this is a long shot, but I would appreciate any help anyone can give me. I have NOT dates, no names....nothing that would help.

Hi, Looking for information about Samuel Gammon b. abt 1864 living in Oystermouth in Swansea Glamorgan, and he was a fisherman. I have him on the census from 1881-1901 and he was married twice. His 2nd wife was Jane Owens b.abt 1854 in Llansamlet. I think she may be in my family tree. Trying to find out more about her. They did have a child Samuel b.15/4/1887, have also found his first wife might have been Maria Owen. Can someone help me solve this problem with any information???.

I too am researching my roots. Via Joe Daviess County Biographies and my grandmother's address book, I have found some interesting facts. My mother's grandmother was Josephine Catherine Mougin, born in July 1850, who was married to Samuel David White. Josephine's mother was Catharine Gammon [from Maine]who married J. Augustus Mougin. Catharine's parents were Hannah Gould Gammon and James Gammon [allegedly the coachman-they ran away] who was born in July, 1827. His father was apparently Joseph Gammon fm. Portland, Maine who fought in the revolutionary war and had 11 children. Very interesting, eh?

Re: Richard Gammon of Blountville, TN

My late father did extensive compilation of the history of Richard Gammon.

Richard Gammon Was born "Near London, England" in 1750. His father was George Gammon. He is beleived to have been orphaned at an early age, and was sentenced to transportation in 1765, for what crime we do not know, arriving in America on 17 September (shortly after his 15th birthday). He was indentured to a David Looney.

Richard went on to distinguish himself in the settling of Sullivan Co., TN, and helped to organize the state of Tennessee, serving on the Constitutional Convention and the 3rd and 4th Legislative Sessions.

Richard had a Large farm in what became Sullivan County, TN, but at the time was erroniously believed to be in VA. His farm was Egypt Plantation.

His 4th child was Richard Jr. My information has this Richard Jr. marrying Susan Wantland.

I suppose your Richard could be one more generation down. When I locate more of my Dad's things, I might can shed more light on this. I know he drew up some charts, but I haven't come across them yet.
I have the following entries in a family bible.

Mary McConnell Chester, daughter of John Chester and Rebecca Greer, born 7 MAR 1810 in Jonesborough, TN, died 22 APR 1887 in Jonesborough, TN - married Richard Gammon on 30 JAN 1828 in Hawkins County, TN by the Rev. James Galliher.

They had 5 children:
Nathan Gammon - b. Sunday afternoon, 16 NOV 1828 in Blountville, TN; died 11 FEB 1845
John Chester Gammon - b. 5 JAN 1830 in Blountville, TN; died 9 JAN 1830
George Gammon - b. 5 JAN 1830 in Blountville, TN; died 12 JAN 1830
Jane Gregg Gammon - b. 3 JUN 1831 in Blountville, TN (She died in 1886 in Greene County, TN; married 7 JAN 1851 in Washington County, Tennessee, Henry Wilds.)
There was no bible entry for Mary Chester Gammon - b. abt. 1834, but she was with her mother in the 1850 census. (She died 2 JUL 1862; married 27 DEC 1855, Valentine Keebler.)

Also in the bible, Richard Gammon died in Blountville, 28 DEC 1834.

Mary McConnell Chester Gammon married in 1842, Robert Allison, son of John Allison and Martha Hodges.

My questions are: who was Richard Gammon? Who were his parents? When and where was he born? Any additional information about him will be appreciated.
