I am looking for information confirming the children of Joshua and Sarah Gammon found in the Blackhall District, DeKalb, Georgia U.S. Census of 1850. Specifically I am looking for proof that the following are children who are commonly attached to this couple in various family trees: Lemuel J., Littleberry b. abt 1808, Josiah W. b.24 Mar 1816, Samuel b. 1820, Jonah b. 1822, Joshua (my direct ancestor) b. 1832 m. Sarah Jane BUTLER, Lucy b 1828.

I am currently search census, land, and probate sources.

Research undertaken by Richard Rouse of CT, indicates he was "probably born in England" about 1715. See "William Gammons of Plymouth Colony and Liverpool, Nova Scotia", p.6. 2004. Reprint may be available. It is believed that William Gammons served in the Canada Expedition in the French and Indian War. His name appears on muster rolls; e.g., MA Archives, Muster Rolls, Vol. 87, p. 287 et al. He died in Nova Scotia in 1745.

I'm looking for any information on Robert Gammons or Gammans that married an Eliza (I've come accross a last name of LEE or TWINE neither one have been confirmed as correct) I'm fairly certain they had atleast 3 boys. George b 1835 (I believe he went by Gammons), Charles Gammons b 1837 and Cephas Gammans b 1839. They were all born in Sussex-Fishbourne.

I have found several census' with they boys as Head of Household, but have been unable to find one with them as children. If anyone can help me out it would be appreciated.

I am researching data for my family tree. I saw that a couple of people mentioned Rufus and Lucinda Gammons. They are my maternal great great great grandparents. Cornelia E. Byrnes (nee Gammons) was Rufus and Lucinda's daughter, and Cora Franklin Morse (nee Byrnes) was Cornelia's daughter. Cora's son Arthur Carleton Morse was my grandfather and he had one child which was my mother, Anna Frances Long (Morse).

I am trying to go further back than Rufus and Lucinda Gammons. I was told that the line goes back to the Mayflower, but I want to trace/document it and verify it myself.

I have several family photos, which includes Rufus, Lucinda, Cornelia, Cora, Elmer, Mabel, Livinia, and others. The pictures are very old, but in great condition.

Where did your Ancesters live? We are unsure whether it was our John H. Gammon or his father that came from Scotland with a brother. Childrens birth records show they may have been in New York after arriving in America. My John H. was in Robertson Co TN, Trigg Co KY, Posey Co IN, and Warrick Co IN.

HI, According to the story my father told me; Two brothers from Scotland came to America and one of them married an Indian Chief's daughter. I do not know the name of the tribe. My father did till me, but I paid little attention to it. I only know it was a Massachusets tribe and we descended from that marraige.

John B. Gammon, Senior was born circa 1730/1740 in Norfolk County, Virginia. He later moved to Pittsylvania County, Virginia. John was granted 569 acres of land in the Bachelor's Hall Area of Pittsylvania County, Virginia. He died after 1807 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia or Smithfield, Tennessee. The known children of John numbered four sons and one daughter.

The children of John B. Gammon were:

· William Gammon Senior was born circa 1760. He was married to Elizabeth Unknown. William stayed in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. He died circa 1837.
· Harris Gammon was born circa in 1757. He was married to Levicy Elizabeth "Bettie" Brawner. Harris later moved to Knox County, Tennessee.

· Carl Richard was born on November 12, 1933. He was married 1st to Sharon Schmidt and 2nd to Jean McClanahan.
· Ruth June was born on August 13, 1935. She was married 1st to Earl Buchheit, 2nd to a Mr. Frenzer and 3rd to Edward Gill.
· Perry Harmon was born on August 26, 1937. He was married to Shirley Ann Chilton. Perry died on September 18, 2007 and is buried in Louisiana.
· Walter Allen was born on July 29, 1941. He was married 1st to Judith Anne Lee, 2nd to? 3rd to Tracy and 4th to Sue and 5th to Lisa.

Charley gammons, wife maggie, and the children are: vernel, sidney, melvin, and ira. i know charley's parents were loucinda and sidney marks gammons. i can find out more. my grandmother is vernell gammons, she gave me this information and i can't find out more. if you have questions or anything you would like for me to ask i will. my grandmother is turning 90 on thursday

MO death cert died Portageville, New Madrid, MO on December 18, 1948. He was in the community for 60 years , wife Cora, who was age 43. Charlie was born in TN on Nov 17, 1869. He died at age 79 years, 1 month, 1 day, His father was John Gammons, born Charleston, SC mother unknown, informant Mrs. Cora Gammons, burial Portageville Cemetery.

I am looking for Lillie Bell Trosper Gammons date of death and burial place.

Elsie Gammon Stokes death cert is indexed under Elsie Stoke, but the original clearly shows Elsie Stokes.

I am not a Gammons but a cousin Sarah "Sallie" Pearson married Jefferson Davis "Jeff" Gammons; they lived in Trousdale and Macon Counties in Tennessee. Sallie was first married to a Mr. Burrow. Do these folks belong in your tree too?

Henry Warren Gammons was son of Rufus King Gammons and Lucinda Phillips. He was born 15 Dec 1842 Lee, MA. m Clarissa Cook 5 Apr 1866 Abington MA, He d 11 May 1904 Kansas City, MO. I have that they had two children: Henry Elmer Gammons b 7 Mar 1867 Abington MA and Hattie Florence Gammons b 7 Dec 1868 East Bridgewater MA.
My gr grandmother was daughter of Rufus King Gammons.

The pictures are of Alex Gammons for his wife, Alma, a picture of Alma at 29 years, and one of I think their daughter, Alma Callie born 1876. Henry Elmer Gammons, 1866, Massachusetts

Born in 1866 in Massachusetts. His father is Henry Gammons. He married Sadie Alferd Woodhead Taylor in 1887. They had five childern Claire, Katherine, Elmer, and Elizabeth. I am looking for a record of his death 1892 in Brockton, MA. I am also looking to see if this is a linkage between, Henry Elmer Gammons (1866), Henry W Gammons (about 1843) and Rufus Gammons. This is great. I will give you a call. I have a copy of Robert Patterson Gammans's marriage certificate to his first wife, Susan Mercer from England. Robert Patterson Gammans is my husband's great-great grandfather Working with glass must run in the family because my husband, Jim, is a ceramic engineer. I have several other things that you might want too. Thanks for responding.

Brenda, I believe we are related. I was a Bridwell, and grew up in Kokomo. My grandmother was a gammons, as well as my aunt Harriet, Susan, and Emily mercer gammons. I have a copy of Robert Patterson Gammons entry into the USA, denouncing Queen Elizabeth. He was a Glassblower by trade. Funny, since my sister Libby, my daughter Katie, and at one time myself, all work for Kokomo Opalescent Glass. (Oldest Stained Glass Company in usa.). If you could send me an address, I will be glad to send you a copy of this document . I would love to hear all the info you have on the family. I have been trying to get started on some family geneology as well, but just can't decide which side to start with first. It is quite an undertaking, as you well know. Gammans in Kokomo, IN

I am hunting the parents of Robert Patterson Gammans born abt. 1849 in England - came over to US in 1880. He lived in the Howard, Co., Indiana area and died in Kokomo, IN in 1915. On some old census records the recorded the name incorrectly as Gammons.

Supposedly two Gammon brothers came from Scotland then seperated, never to see each other again. One John H. Gammon a minister b. 1815. The other nothing is known of him. If you have a story like this in your family would love to hear from you.

Seeking info. on John Hamilton Gammon b. 1815 either NY or TN. He married Margaret Susan Carson around 1849 prob. Ky. He is in Trigg Co. KY in 1870 and later moved to Hopkins Co. Ky, then on to IN. Known children are: Thomas Payton, John M., John Brackenridge, Myrtle Ellen (Ella), and maybe Fannie. I have hit a brick wall. Any help will be appreciated.
