I had given up on any response any time or anywhere, so I had stopped looking. Today, I just decided to surf through the message board and WOW here you are. Of course I don't know if you will read this either, but there is always the chance. Gordon you said your dad was the youngest of the Ganaway boys from M.C., well, there were several familes in M.C. with the Ganaway name who are descendants of our fore father Francois Louis Ganave', which is as far back as I am able to find. But there is a lot of in-between I still don't know and hate to admit it, but you are one of the ones I had not come across. I don't know if you know him or not, but a 2nd cousin of mine, and your's too I'm sure, by the name of John Felix Ganaway (now living in Houston, TX) has helped me a lot fill in the empty spaces. As a matter of fact, he is the one who gave me my great grandparents names Which I did not know, and that has helped me gather all the information that I now have. Just to let you know who I am, and maybe you will know of them, my granddad lived in M.C. most of his life. My grandmother and he were seperated longer that I know and she lived in Plaquemine, where I grew up. His name was Joseph Ganaway and her name was Ida Deshotel Ganaway. He had 10 brothers and sisters most of them living in M.C. and that is why I didn't know the Ganaway family as well as I would have liked. My greatgrand parents were Placide and Armentive Odelia Henry Ganaway also spelled Ganivet. If you are kin in this same family, please send me an e-mail, I would love to hear from you or even meet you!!!!!!!!!!!. I didn't say, but the first time I met John, was 2 years ago, we arranged to meet in M.C. and have kept in touch since. Hope to hear from you soon.
P.S. my e-mail add, if you are interested is firstname.lastname@example.org
