I am just now going through some old correspondence with Leonard Motichka from Kalispell, MT. I believe he passed away within the last year or two according to SSI records.
In reviewing a letter from June 18, 1996, he had enclosed an old photograph of the Motichka Home taken around 1914. He lists names of Joe, Jake, Mary, Rose, ?, Ann, Nellie, Chas, Gram Francis, ? Ed., Amos (cousin), Mabel (cousin), Fred, Nellie, Dorothy (cousin) Gusta, John -- Dad and Mom not in picture. He mentioned in his correspondence that at the time (1996) he was 87 and his wife Lois was 83. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on May 21, 1996. He has(d) a brother Art who was 85 at the time and a brother Leonard who was 83 at the time -- I don't know if any of them are living now (2003). He never knew much about his family as his Dad never told them much other than coming from Nebraska when he was 17 or 18 years old to find a place for the family to go to in Montana in 1890. The photo is of the home that Dad and Uncle Fred built about 1907 at 160A in the LaSalle Community (It is no longer there). Roger worked in the saw mills and planers all his life and farmed some too. I'm very sorry that I never made the trip to visit and meet him. I spoke by phone with him a few times. Anyway, I don't know if any of this fits in with your family but I thought I would pass along the information that I had.
p.s. I can no longer access the Motichka/Motyczka family website. I have tried my password over and over and I have been denied access so that is why I am responding here.
