Dos hermanos de mi abuela son Gandara nacidos en Cantabria, cerca de Santander,nacieron en torno a 1890-1900, si teneis o quereis información me decis, estoy preparando un árbol genealogico.

My father grew up in Panuco, Durango, Mexico. His mother Maria Soto de Gandara passed away after his birth. His father Gilberto Gandara Berumen remarried Juliana Garcia. They moved to Cd. Acuna, Coahulia. My father is residing in Texas. We are a very large family. I will ask him for information.

One of my paternal great grandmothers was Cliotilde Gandara, who was born in Pearsall (actually in Frio Town) in 1880. Her parents were Teodoro Gandara and Felicita (Feliciana?) Carasco. We don't have much information about her life prior to her Marriage to Manuel Lopez Rodriguez, other than her early life in Pearsall. My grandfather, Pete L. Rodriguez of Bryan, Texas is her only remaining living child. I would love to learn more about the Gandara family and its history especially since we are related. I have found a record of a christening of my great grandmother at San Fernando Cathedral in San Antonio in 1882 and could share more about her life and large family. It's been a long time since I've been on here but, I remembered that my Aunt Delia married Arturo Gandara. They have three children and my cousins names are Arturo, Eduardo(Lalo),and Berenice.. Possibly you know them. They live in Dallas.

I have Gandara family roots in and around Rodeo, Durango, Mexico. (Matamoros, Nava, Torreon.)I have traced back to the early 1800's- a man named Juan Pablo Gandara married to Gertrudis Bustamante. I am through his son Teodoro Gandara and wife Ma. de Jesusita De La O. I am looking for family in California who may have known Merced Rubio Gandara 1893-1924 (died*Arlington, Riverside, CA.) I am from New Mexico.

Hola Marian, no se si mi primo Neil quiso decir español (gallego) o precisamente gallego de Galicia. Somos cubanos y estamos bajo la impresion (por informacion de diversas fuentes) que nuestro apellido proviene de Galicia. Mi abuelo, bisabuelo de Neil, es originario de Santander y yo tengo su registro cubano, el cual verifica que nacio en Santander. Sus apellidos eran Gandara Pellon.

We're not family then. But may I ask where you are from? Have I possibly met you before? Diana had other cousins I met I just can't remember their names. I remember a guy cousin she had named Raul and he had a younger sister about my age. I have a cousin that is or was good friends with Diana and her name is Bere. She lives in Dallas though. My last name is Martinez. My father is also Jesus and my grandfathers name is Ramon. My Grandmothers name was Juana Martinez Varela. But she passed away when my dad was a boy. My Grandfather remarried and had 8 more kids. Most of my fathers family is in Dallas though. I rarely see or speak to that side of the family. My mother is from a place called Santa Maria Del Oro, about 3 hours drive north of Atotonilco. How are you related to Diana? Do you know some of my family?

I think it might be the same one. Lupita is younger and Jenny is older than Diana and she also has a younger brother I think. Well if it is her she is like a 3rd or 4th cousin of mine. Her mother is my grandfathers cousin. The last time I was there I was about 12-13. We would start a bon fire and a group of guys and girls would hang out in the corner right outside her house. I met some of her cousins too and there names were Elida and Karla. Assuming you know who I'm talikng about.

I am looking for anyone who knows a juan gandara. He lived in the area of commerce, ca in the early 70's. He worked in the plastics business. That is all I know about him. I just want to know if he is still living and what he looks like? I want to know if he is the reason I have the lightest complexion and the only colored eyes in my family.

In 1971 I visted along with parents and maternal gparents a family in Cd. Juarez, cousins of ours ( possibly thru grand father ) , named Gandara. Father deceased. I recall they were part Arab. The father had been a "fayuquero" ( itinerant seller of pots , pans, etc) his travels took him from Juarez south east to the coast and back (Sea of Cortez). He was killed and robbed on one of these trips. I'd like to renew acquaintance with this family. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

My granfather's name on my mother's side is Aurelio Gandara
and he was in Houston, Texas around 1941. My mother had
an older brother by the name of Louis. My grandmother's
name was Ignacia. He, Aurelio, worked for the railroad.

Gandara is a arquitectural term in the arabic language, its orings are hindi - arabic, you can look up a moorish city in Spain called Gandara, the real spelling is Gandaran. You can fing many Gandaras in Lebanon and Pakistan.
