My mothers maiden name was Ganschow. Here is what I know of that family.
My great-grandparents Louis (I think) and Caroline (Sipherlich) Ganschow came to this country in the late 1800's
They settled in Chicago. They had 13 children, about 1/2 lived to adulthood. The ones I can remember are Louis, Fred, George and Edward (My Grandpa).
I know they had several daughters. One named Gertrude. My grandfather Edward H. Ganschow was a policeman for the city of Chicago. Some of his Uncles
ran Ganschow Tool Dye. Both of my great-grandparents died within months of one another in the mid-1920's. MY mothers family
consisted of George Ganschow now desceased. Edward Francis Ganschow, now desceased. Helen Agnes Ganschow-Chicas still alive and 76yrs old.
Robert Arthur Ganschow desceased. My grandmothers maiden name was Savage. Granpa died in 1972 and grandma in 1974. I miss them terribly,
they were a huge part of my life. Hope this helps.
