MARY LOUISE ILES was born November (no date) 1871 in Davenport, IA, the dtr of John Lowery and Mary Bawden Iles.
On 13 May 1895 at Trinity Cathedral in Davenport, Iowa, she married William Lewis Gansert b. 31 July 1865. William was the son of JOHN G. and Susan M. GANSERT. William was born 13 July 1896.
Until shortly after 1900, Mary and William made their home with her father, John Iles in Davenport; after that date, they moved to their home in Rock Island, Illinois.
In 1891, William founded the Gansert Candy Company in Rock Island, Illinois, according to his obituary, was one of the largest candy factories in the Midwest.
William died 22 April 1919 in the family home at 807 22nd STreet in Rock Island and is buried on the Bawden (in-laws) lot in Oakdale Cemetery. He and his family were members of Trinity Episcopal Church in Rock Island. Mary lived in the family home on 22nd Street with son William until 1923 when she moved to Dvenport and gave the home to William. In 1925, Mary Iles Gansert moved to San Fransicso where she died. They had 2 children:
a. William Iles Gansert b. 13 July 1896 in Davenport, IA. He deserted his son and wife and moved to California. No other information.
b. George B. (Bawden??) Gansert b. 25 September 1897 in Davenport and died 6 mos later on 25 April 1898.
