Corky, I have found much more information. My great,great,great,great grandfather and grandmother were Michael and Magdelene (Hoehr or Hoche) Gantert. They had five children Stephen Henry (my ggg grandfather)Agatha (Groman), Mrs. Frank Madar, Mary (Peters) and Philiphine Gantert. All of which immigrated from Baden, Germany. Stephen Henry immigrated in 1857 into New YOrk ( I have immigration Papers) and it is believed he helped in the immigration of his sisters to the USA. All of his sisters lived and died in Wisconsin. Stephen married Sophia Wagner in 1861 in LaCrosse, WI and they had 9 children: Louise, Mary, Henry, Sophia, Josephine, George, Frank, Helen and Carl. I have dates on all of Stephens siblings plus the complete lineage of Henry Gantert up to me. If this helps, great, let me know.
