I have hit a road block in my family tree! I am looking for the parents of Eliga, Largie, or Elijah Gants. I know that his dad was born in Texas and his mom in Virginia. He was married to Shaddie (Mosely) and was born around 1867. I am trying to find out where the Gants name originated. From what I understand, it was probably a slave name given to the family. I have also been told that a couple name Ben and Jenny started it all.

Mr. Greathouse, our families obviously have information that could benefit each other: Thomas' info, his dau-in-law Molly's info.

Molly Gants information

Molly Gants married Joseph Gentry Kirkpatrick. We've got no information on her birth, marriage or death. At the time her daughter "Nancy" Addie Elizabeth Kirkpatrick married my great-great-grandfather Henderson Monroe Keener, they (Molly and Joseph) where living in Ranger, AR (Yell Co.)

If you have any information on Molly or any possible ancestors please contact me. Her estimated lifespan would have been before and continuing somewhat after the 1870's.

Anyone related to Alberta Gants who died in Houston, Tx. Born 1898.
She lived in Houston a long time. She had a brother who went by
the name of A. T. Mayes(Mayzes)died in 1973/4, born 1898. He was married to Annie Eddie Gillmore.
Trying to find my father's correct spelling of his last name. He
said the military misspelled his last name. There were cousins who lived
in South Tx. One was named Cedric,dhould be in late 50's now. Don't know his last name.
