Hello, I believe that Willam A Ganzer however according to the info that I have was born in 1849. He was 3rd oldest child and brother to Charles born 1858. Charles was my Great Grandfather, his son Paul Andrew 1/26/1882 who was my grandfather, one of his children was my mother Anna Mae Ganzer, born 6/9/40. She was born late in his life and she died 02/14/2008. The stories that I have heard say that the Ganzers came from Denton Tx and you can see Ganzer road above I35s..I know exactly were the Ganzer Cemetery is in Lees Summit Mo..My mother told me that her father told her that his mother Augsta used to babysit Jesse James. I have a picture of Augusta and others but do not know the names.

Hello, Just found this and wanted to let you know that the Ganzers of Denton Co.,Texas are the children of Andres Ganzer of Lee Summit, Mo. The father and mother of the Ganzer clan are buried in the Ganzer Cem. in Lee Summit. The family came to Texas through Galveston in the mid 1800's. First they settled in South Texas (Schertz, Texas) the came to Dallas, Texas in the 1870 where the had a family mercantile store in downtown Dallas. The mother of the clan was said to not like the rough-talking cowboys for the the family moved to land around Lee Summit. However several of the older children stayed in Texas and moved to Denton, Denton Co., in the mid-to-late 1880's. They were one of several German families who settled north of Denton. My husband's mother was Mary Edna Ganzer and we still have the family farm which fronts I-35. The Ganzers have a long and illustrious history in Denton Co., and some of the granite on the Denton Co. Courthouse was mined from the Ganzer homestead, north of town. Also, the son of Andres Ganzer started the milling company which is now know as Morrison Mills in Denton. My husband and I have been to the Ganzer Cem. in Lee Summit several times. The interesting fact is my German family (Oesch) moved to Texas in 1953 from Lee Summit, Mo. At the base of our farm is the Blue Mound United Methodist Church and Cem. where many of the Ganzers are buried as they were one of the founding families of this church. It is abour 5 miles north of Denton on I-35. Hope this helps clarify some of the family history.

Minnie moved to Missouri and remarried - last name when she passed away was Bailey. Emma died as a baby/toddler. Pauline married a Keller (not sure of husband's name) and last I knew lived in Texas. Paul Louis Godfrey Ganzer passed away in 1998 and was married to Martha Jane Little. I am not sure of information on great grandpa Paul Ganzer - I believe he served in the military (from talking with my aunt). Haven't been able to find any information online to back up the military line & haven't heard about any wild hogs. What was his brother's name?

Hi Sandra,

Your grandfather Harry was brother to Elizabeth Ganzer, my grandmother. I just wrote a long note to Heiko about Bert Ganzer. I think you will find the information posted of use.
Lois Smith (nee Brockman) is Elise's daughter. She passed in 2005 but was working on the Ganzer family history. As I told Heiko, mom put together a lot of information. Uncle Harry and Aunt Linda ( nee Laechel) had 4 children: James Harry Ganzer, Ralph Bertram Ganzer, Floyd Franklin Ganzer and Marilyn Lois Ganzer.

Hi Heiko ,
I am Lois June Smith's daughter Gayle (nee Smith)Alania.I am Elsie Brockman's granddaughter. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Ganzer and Bert is her brother. I remember meeting Bert Ganzer as a child and I remember your name. Lois, my mother, was working on the Ganzer family history before she passed in 2005. I have her records. They are in a box and I may be able to help you concerning James Harry Ganzer. I believe he is a cousin (son of Harry and Linda Ganzer)His siblings were Ralph Bertram Ganzer, Floyd Franklin Ganzer ( moved to Arizona) and Marilyn Lois Ganzer.

Keep in mind there were a lot of children. Great Grandpa, John Ganzer married twice. There were 5 chidren from the first marriage, and 7 from the second. John owned the store on the corner of Division and I believe High Street.

Marriage 1: John Henry Ganzer to Sophia Matilda Paulsen♠

Children John Ganzer Jr. Apr 8, 1890
Frank Ganzer July 28, 1892
Karl Alfred Ganzer Apr 17, 1893
Elizabeth Dorothea Sophia Ganzer Dec 12, 1984
Harry Ganzer ( For some reason mom didn't list
Uncle Harry's birth date, but he is the father
of the James Ganzer you are looking for - Jim
is the one that moved to California to
Hollywood if I remember correctly.)

Marriage 2: After Sophia died, John married Olga Martha Pieler and from this marriage the children are as follows:
Lucian V. Ganzer Aug. 22, 1900
Adalaide Vilhemina Eugenie Ganzer Jan 31 1904
Laura Linda Frieda Ganzer Jan. 25, 1907
Edward Albert Wilheim Apr. 19 1909
Bertram Eugen(e) Paul Apr 5, 1914 Your step dad)
Wendall Ganzer Sept 15, 1915
Francis Marion Ganzer May 27, 1921

Heiko, I hope this clears a few things up. There is more information in the box I am sure. If there is a way you can contact me through Ancestry.com and I will try to send you what I can find. I don't remember if you remember me, but I remember your name. We may have met as children on one of your 'Blue Island visits. I noticed there was a Sandra Ganzer with a posting as well. Some of this may help her as well.

I don't know anything about the Ganzer side. I am researching the Peters name. Minnie Ganzer was Minnie Peters. But that is all I know. In 1930 census she was living in Vernon, Wilbarger co. Texas with two daughters and a son. She is listed as a widow and did laundry. I hope your Minnie is the same one. As far as Paul Ganzer is concerned, I'm sorry I don't have any information on him. If you know Minnie Ganzer's maiden name that might be the connection. Thanks for the contact. Happy hunting!

It is possible that Martin Ganzer is the same Martin A. Ganzer that is my great great Grandfather. His daughter, Emma, married B.A. Webb in or around Highland KS (don't have the particulars of the marriage, but they had three sons - Martin, LeRoy, and Harold Wesley) Harold Wesley is my father.
From German emigration records in 1869 Anna Maria Weidenmaier married to Martin Ganzer emmigrated to North America. I am interested in Anna Maria, as she might be the"Mary" who went to the US, a sister of my gg grandfather. Even if not, contact me directly at hammer3611@hotmail.com and I will direct you to the German records, if you have not found them. Any info on Anna Maria would be most welcome. Judy

looking for Ana (GANZER) ROZMAN details

I am searching for information on my great grandmother Ana Ganzer. She married Martin Rozman, who was a policeman.
He was transferred to Vukovar in then Austrohungary, where he worked in the police station as the chief constable. His family settled there.
Their first child was born in 1888, Ivan Rozman in Vukovar. They had 9 children that I have found to date including my grandfather.
I do not know where they were born or married. We thought Martin was born in Gratz Austria, I thought it might be easier to try GANZER as it is not quite as common as Rozman. Any help would be appreciated.
regards
Lidia Rozman

Friedrich Wilhelm Carl GANZER baptism - 1869 Chicago, IL.

Name: Friedrich Wilhelm Carl GANZER
Birth: 1 Mar? 1869
Baptised: 16 May 1869
Father: Heinrich GANZER
Mother: Elizabeth STEINMEIER

I found this baptism among some copies of records of the First Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, while researching my own family. The church was located at 19th and Peoria Streets in Chicago, IL, and it's records are some of the few that survived the Chicago Fire. They are now on microfilm at the Newberry Library.
Link to the church: http://pages.prodigy.net/johnhhallman/firstzionchi.htm
Hope it helps someone.
