Julia (nee: Bendian) Garabedian, 83, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 12, 2007, at the Claremont Manor Assisted Living Lodge. Born May 30, 1924, and raised in Racine Wisconsin, where she lived with her parents, George and Mary Bendian and her older sister, Virginia, until she was married to Jack Garabedian in 1948, all of who have preceded her in death. During World War II, she worked at J.I. Case, in Racine, as did many other Armenian women at that time. She had a wonderful sense of humor and on holidays and special occasions, loved to entertain friends and family. She was admittedly "Daddy's girl," and took after him, as she was kind, gentle, and loving to all in her life. After raising a family of five children, Jack and Julia moved to California in 1967, where she had lived ever since. Julia is survived by her five children: oldest daughter, Candace Vance of Portland Ore.; daughter, Merri Germon and grandson, Nick Germon of Canyon Lake, Calif.; daughter , Susie Camu and grandson, Tim Pacheco of Ontario, Calif.; son, Karl Garabedian and step-grandson, Patrick de Carvalho of Tujunga, Calif.; and youngest son, Jack Garabedian of Miami, Fla. Her nickname,"Ga Ga", given to her by her first grandchild Tim, was used lovingly by her many extended family members. She also left behind many dear and loving friends whom she considered family from the Claremont Manor. Graveside services will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif. on Saturday, July 2 8, 2007, at 11 a.m. Julia loved her children and grandchildren very much. She helped us all grow up as individuals and supported us in all our endeavors. We miss her so much and she will always live in our hearts for as long as we live.
