My Grandmother arrived with her father, Johann, mother, Regina, and family in Houston in either 1902 or 1904 on a ship named Chimnitz. She married Max Horn in 1912. Have you any more info on the ship?

Garbs from Zagar, Lithuania

Was the Garb from Lithuania (your father's mother's mother) from the town of Zagar? What do you know about your mother's family in Lithuania?

My father, Samuel Garb, was born in Zagar around 1910. He came to the US with his older brother Chaim and younger sister Szfir. Could your father's mother be related to these Garbs? Chaim became Harold and Samuel became Leonard Samuel. I don't remember how Szfir's name was changed.

Does anyone reading this message have any information about Garbs from Lithuania, especially Zagar? My email is pgarb@uci.edu.
