I have been researching my family tree on my mother's side. My grandmother was Antonia or Antoinette Garbarino Franceschina. My grandfather was Giovanni Battista Franceschina. Her parents were Joseph and Rosa Cavagnaro Garbarino. The Garbarino's came from Genova, Italy area (or a surrounding town). My mother was born in New York City in 1896 and she was baptised at the Missione S. Carlo Chiesa Di S. Gioachino and on her baptismal certificate were listed the names of Rosa Garbarino (Madrina) and it looks like a T or an L (first letter of the first name was written over) Loglia Pietro as "Padrino."

Does any of this sound familiar?

I can be reached by e-mail at bocz2@aol.com.

Thanks for any information you might be able to provide.

Barbara
