Joseph Gardner, born ca. 1837, married Nancy Congdon in Salisbury, Herkimer County, NY. Nancy Congdon was born in 1849, and is believed to be a daughter of Josiah Congdon and Esther Gridley. Joseph and Nancy Gardner had sons Joseph, James, John, Hiram, Wheeler and daughter Nancy Gardner, all born in Salisbury area or in Stratford, Fulton County, NY.
