Hi Scott,
I apologize for being about 6 months late in responding to your message. I forgot about my posting as my father became ill in january and passed away in february. The person you describe would have been about 20 yrs younger than he. You mentioned she was active in Hadassah which is a jewish organization and we are of jewish desent. The only one left is my Aunt and I will ask her. Please respond to my e-mail acct Vankuria@aol.com so I'll be sure and get it. I know all the garelicks have to be related in some way. Hope you get this, take care and good luck!!!

Hi llsa:
Happy New Year, I hope you are well. Were you ever successful in addressing to your father the issue of relatives in New York that might possibly have been involved in an adoption via Louise Wise? The bmother would have been born in the spring of 1938, and given birth to a blonde haired blue-eyed baby boy. She was 22 and the eldest of 4 siblings; she quit school at 16 and earned her HS diploma at night. She worked as a book keeper and also served with the Hadassah. She was described as 5'5" tall, brown curly hair and brown eyes, her brother was married, her sisters unmarried. Her father worked as a fuel truck driver and cab driver in the summer, her mother was a teacher prior to becoming a mother. Please advise if any of this strikes a chord.
I look forward to hearing from you, thank you for your time. Scott.

Hi llsa:
Happy New Year, Were you ever successful in finding out whether your grandfather the one who changed his name had any further information on the name Garelick?
I have been doing all I can but have exhausted many of my options in trying to find
anyone with knowledge of this name. The person I am seeking would have
been born in the spring of 1938 according to Louise Wise Adoption Agency and she was the eldest of four siblings. She was active in the Hadassah and was described as being 5'5", with brown curly hair and brown eyes.

I look forward to hearing from you, take care and be well.

My father's name was Garelick, he shortened it many years ago. His family is from Syracuse NY, but I will ask him if he had any relatives in NYC. He comes from a large family with many children, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc.
