Dear Angie, A Julia Harris b1831 was the wife of my great grand father William Harris b1826. This is in my maternal line.
A post by a Dr de Garis shows the Garis family emigrated from Guernsey, some to America. In his post he asks where Guernsey is. My guess is that he may be in America. It might be useful for you to look at his post.
