Your post on Ancestry re de Garis, Guernsey, looks similar to my family tree. We have de Garis in the maternal line from my sister, Mollie de Goris Jedrzijowska nee Brady, my grand mother, three great aunts and great great aunts. I assumed the name changed because it sounds better or may have been a corruption.

I too have got no further than Pierre but have joined the family history group in the Genealogy Group in Guernsey. As I am no longer able to travel – we have sailed to Guernsey and Channel Islands in the past – I have asked if someone in the group would send any information about the address St Pierre du Bois which features in my family tree.

I hope you will look at my tree in Ancestry so we may compare information.
Your history of the de Garis line is fascinating. I remember as a small child listening to great aunts talking. There was a packet line from Plymouth to Guernsey mentioned.
