My father is Mark Garens, his father is Dennie W. Garens (mother is Margaret Mabel Riegel), but his father is Robert Harlow(e) Garnes. Robert changed his last name to Garens for a short while for legal reasons then changed it back to Garnes. However, his son Dennie never changed it back, so there is a whole branch of us that most people don't even know exist. I am seeking people related to me via Robert/Ica Dora. We are also related to Jackson Garnes, one of the triplets that fought in the Civil War.
