I just found a new online bookstore that gives away FREE SEARCHABLE CD-ROM with the purchase of any family history book, they have over 20,000 titles to choose from, I just tought that I will pass it along to you.

Adam b abt 1735 in Orange Co ( no info )
These families are part of the germanna germans who settled in Orange Co in the early 1700's. See germanna's web site for info on them. Any help appreciated.

GARRs FROM VA/KY AREA

My great great grandfather, Simon Garr, was a slave born in VA on or about 1796. I don't have any sibling or parent's names. I do know he later moved to KY and his children were born Burtons (also slaves). They were in the Lebanon (Marion Co), Danville, and Perryville (Boyle Co) areas. If anyone has info, please contact me.

Lemoyne Garr did research on the App Family. Her son gave me copies of her research. Family name Jansen was included. She never published a book. Her resaerch was done in the early 70's. She was my husband's aunt. I do not know if this is the same research.

Can anyone help me with info on Ireland data and immigration of James Garr from Kings County Island. Born in Ireland in 1844; served in the Civil War stationed Frankford Arsenal in Phila Pa; married Mary Cullen in 1870 at St. Jerome's Church in Phila, Pa; Hugh Garr was his sponsor for citizenship; children were: Elizabeth (1870), Mary (1872), Maggie (1877) Anna (1881); only Elizabeth (married Glancy)and Anna (married Wiley) survived childhood; Anna is my grandmother.

I am the grand-daughter of William Clayton Garr.He was the son of Mack and Jane Garr.Mack was a teamster and worked as a logger.If anyone knows of this family please email me.Here is a list of the children they had.I can't find any of these people.clayton,james,elbert,walter,arthur,martin,mary,and dayton.Mary may have been Macks sister or his first wife.Am not for sure.She could have been a servant.

Oh, also, Anita McKellar was married to John Garr in Idaho where she was born. The information on the online index shows they married 13 May, 1925.

I am uncertain, but think that they had a son, also named John Garr, born December 1925 in Spokane, Washington. If you have information pls share.

Anyone have information and linkages to a John Garr born (per census) 1880, lived in Spokane, Washington. At the time he lived there, which was 1930, his wife was named Anita, (I presume maiden name of McKellar), and census shows her as age 29 with him as age 50. The mother in law named Elizabeth McKellar is apparently the mother of Anita and this is part of what I am trying to confirm.

She married John Ralph Garr,They had Don, E verret, Nelson O.was My grandfather & Lela Pearl (Harrah) my paternal grandmother.

My Dad says Uncle Charlie Orr spent a lot of time with them. He was a civil war veteran,.

Saw your posting regarding being proud of your Garr name.
The whole time I was growing up I knew the name of Aunt Garr who lived in Indiana and was my Grandmother's sister. It wasn't until I started genealogy in 1964 that I found her name going back to the 1400's in Germany. She had the orginal Garr Genealogy which I gave to the Germanna Society in Virginia.

Fielding Garr was the son of Abraham Garr and his wife Diana Weaver. Abraham and Diana are buried in Elkhorn Cem in Richmond, In. I am decended from Abraham and Diana through their daughter Martha Garr who married Jeptha Dudley Turner. I too have the Garr family back to the 1400's.
This family was researched by the mother of Theodore Walker.

Hope to obtain a picture of Margaret Ann Orr Casselman (sister to my grandfather Robert) who married Edward Casselman. John Ralph Garr had son Nelson who married Viola Casselman d/o of Edward, Margaret. By swore affidavit (Sept 21, 1929) Nelson and wife Lela Unknown Garr(would appreciate her maiden name) that they were taking care of Charles Thomas Orr(brother to Margaret, and Robert) due to his advancing age and have other documents relating to the burial expenses etc. of Charles signed by Garr family. Years searching and have never found out what may have happened to Margaret about 1875, when in 1876 Edward her husband married Adeline R. Nash. Much information to exchange, and any appreciated. Information show three children born to Nelson and Lela--- Beula, Charles, Ruth.

The edward garr who died in 1969 louisville ky was my grandfather who lived with my family.
There were only three edward garr's in louisville in 1969,
My grandfather, my brother and my dads cousin,

What a coincidence! My name is also Sara Garr (like your mother's!) I am the great-granddaughter of Dee Garr. Dee's youngest child was Floyd Lee Garr Sr. Floyd Sr's third child, Rick, must be the man you are looking for. Rick is my uncle--he's the brother of my dad, Floyd Garr Jr (my dad was the oldest child of Floyd Sr).

Re: Mary Ann Campbell. She is my 1st cousin 3rd removed & I don't know anything about her except what I found on FamilySearch and Ancestry.com. She is in the 1910 census of Clarkston with Mae and her husband. No Chapman husband. She is listed as Polly A. Chapman. She and Jacob Chapman are in the 1920 census of Salt Lake City. He is 55 and she is 58. She died in Salt Lake in 1928 and is buried there as Polly A. Chapman. I think she was a plural wife of Samuel Whitney as in the 1880 census she is living alone with her son John Garr in Millville as Polly Whitney. Samuel Whitney is living with wife Fanny and a slew of kids in 1880 also in Millville but is not enumerated on the same page. According to Ancestral file she had 5 children with Mr. Garr--4 died as children and 2 children with Mr. Whitney--one died as a child. I don't know if she had any children with husband Jacob Chapman. I cannot find him in the 1910 census index on Ancestry, either as Jake or Jacob. You mention you have a picture of her. I would love it if you could e-mail it to me at Leslievaughn@cfl.rr.com. Oscar D. Koch, manager of Taylor's grocery store, Easton, and Miss Rosa I. Garr, daughter of Mrs. Lenora Garr, of Easton, were united in matrimony at 10 o'clock Wednesday evening by Rev. T. O. Stem, pastor of St. Mark's Reformed Church, Easton. It was a quiet wedding and took place at the residence of the bride's mother, No. 1004 Lehigh street. Miss Lillie Garr, a sister, was the bridesmaid, and John Koch, of Allentown, a brother of the groom, was the latter's best man. After the wedding Mr. and Mrs. Koch took possession of their newly-furnished home on South Ninth street, where they held a reception and served refreshments to the few relatives and friends who attended the ceremony.

OBITUARY : KATHERINE LOUISE ROBERSON

Katherine Louise ( Garr ) Robertson, age 71, passed away at Akron General Hospital, November 3, 2003.

Born in Alum Springs, Kentucky. She spent most of her life in Akron.

She is survived by her sons, Gregory ( Diane ) Smith , Keith and Craven Smith of Akron.

Also sister, Geraldine ( Oran ) Lincoln ; brothers, Rev. Joseph ( Louise ) Garr of Cincinnati, Ohio , Charles ( Melody ) Garr of Covington, Kentucky ; grandchildren , great-grandchildren , nieces , cousins , family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 7, 2003 at 11:30 a.m. at Sommerville Funeral Home, 1695 Diagonal Road, Akron. Family and friends may call 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
