I too have family that spell their name with an 's' on the
end. It's funny you say that your family was from Iowa and
Nebraska. I currently live in Nebraska, but my grandpa moved
his family here from Iowa. Please share some of your ancestors that were from Iowa, there may still be a connection here. Some of my ancestors from Iowa are: Noah Garrean and his wife Catharine "Katie" Copple. Noah was a
son of George Garren and Ruth Faine. The period that these
people were alive would be early to mid 1800's. If either
of these couples appear in your ancestory, that is a definate hit, but still share some of your ancestors from IA, because there could be some other connection.
